So in the first two parts we made a rear spool to connect our engines to our independent rear suspension. In this part we work to make it bulletproof. I can't wait to see the kinds of machines this is used on.

By welding the bolts, the HAZ area would reduce the strength crudely by half. I think it is still crazy strong. I can't wait to see the testing. I want to build one now. Your the awesome one as you are one of the few showing and encouraging us. Thanks for that.

Ah don’t forget the basic principles; it is a countersunk bolt, welding makes it stronger.

Love the channel. If you put the welds in the splines, would you not hurt the hardness of the material.

You’re not putting enough weld on there to affect the strength, and you don’t have to do every single spline. And thank you so much!

KJ Racing Sir add efi to the old engine or new and use megasquirt the Microsquirt sweet system even one can use android tablet/phone as a dash /tuner etc .ls coils or ford edis wasted spark super simple and affordable diy autotune is a place to get it .GOD BLESS

I’m not getting rid of the engine so I may do this for the next one. EFI add-ons are typically pretty expensive (like more than I paid for the donor), and I’m a budget builder. But we’ll see.

You should sell the metal tubing. Already cut bent and notched. And all the customer has to do is weld it up. I know you're busy but you would make a lot of people happy and a ton of money. i would be your first customer. You'd be able to sell it for like 1100+ shipping. There was a guy in Norway doing it, but he won't ship to the US or Canada for insurance reasons I don't know lol.

You mean I could burn 25 hours of work and $1000 dollars of steel to bend up a frame for $100 profit?? Holy shit that’s like $4 an hour! I’d be rich in no time! Juuust kiddin. If it were profitable to build and sell these more people would do it. I’d rather spend my time showing you guys exactly how to do it, jump in and get your hands dirty, you won’t be disappointed I promise!

@@KJRaycing Also see you charge $3500 for the kit. I was just throwing numbers out there. I really didn’t know how much things cost and how much time it takes but people would pay 3500 for the whole kit. Also just the chassis.

My response was in fun and to hopefully get you guys to see that diy is a way better way to go. If you would pay $3500 for a kit you could save $1000 by buying a bender and a pile of tubing 😁. Paying someone $2500 for a kit plus shipping would put your build close to $10k. Very few people including myself want to spend that kind of cheddar on a homebuilt machine. I hope you figure out a way to get started on one of these without anyone doing the work for you. It is so rewarding. I wish you the absolute best 🖖

do you think the spline is the weak point? or the chain? both seam beefy enough to survive a long time in dirt.

My goal of this was to make the chain the weakest link (no pun intended). As power increases the weak point would become the brackets holding it to the frame, which can be laser cut from thicker material. It was designed to be variable; that’s kind of my thing. 🤓

I have used engines from 20hp-100hp and builders from all over the world are using any engine they can get their hands on. Snowmobiles, atv’s, motorcycles and gokart engines can all be used in this chassis design.

Narcissist comment. Stop trying to look for what’s wrong with it. The bearings will last at minimum 5-10 years just like in everything else.

@@KJRaycing I apologize... I definitely wasn't trying to poke holes. I simply thought I had missed something. I drive decades-old vehicles and use farm machinery such as combines from the '60s and tend to assume bearings are "consumables." I definitely didn't mean to offend and am supremely grateful for the development you've put into all of your work and videos.

The bearings should last a very long time. But if you're worried don't weld the center bolt and splines on at least one hub. It would still be easily removable. The bearings themselves probably need pressed or pulled out.

I have a question just curious have you ever ran into a problem where they don't allow home-built buggies in an ATV UTV Park?

@@KJRaycing yeah I called around I figured it out just got to have a VIN number put on it then it's legal in Hatfield and McCoy and up in Deadwood South Dakota them were the two I was worried about

No it isn't. Vacuum gauge and clean them correctly. If they are Mics you know you've got to get them clean. I agree that a fi motor just over all is better but there are some drawbacks. 1 possible issue could be a sensor shits the bed and your walking from who knows where. Say a tps or cam position sensor
