Loads of bike frames come painted from the factory and it holds up fine. Most of them actually. I wouldn't paint a frame without sanding. It wont last.

I'd recommend something hotter and cleaner than just thinner. We use acetone because it evaporates away quickly and leaves zero residue unlike thinner or even lacquer thinner.

It's a bit softer than I would like. I will probably go for powdercoating on my next frame.

Excellent videos. But a dust mask is no substitute for a respirator. Central nervous system damage is real.

Sand blaster, angle grinder, the metal prep with the kit is an acid and will neutralize all of the surface rust. You just dont want any flaky or scaled rust.

Painting the frame is always an option. I found it to be a little too soft. The powder coat held up better when assembling.

Hey look fair enough. I just got done with my XR400R 96. Frame is neeeeearly paint cured. Clean the motor tomorrow and then the build begins :) Thanks for the response@@WeekendAdventureRides
