Side Note:
These agility & skills courses/exercises are designed to help develop the fundamental riding skills of clutch, throttle, brake and active balance by the rider.
Precise practice in coordinating these techniques can lead to instinctive/reflexive actions by the rider and allow for more precise control of the motorcycle.
Mastery of these techniques allows the rider to more smoothly transition the bike when cornering as well as being able to react reflexively when encountering unexpected changes in surface traction in off road conditions.
Depending on your skill level, you may want to make the courses larger to feel more comfortable while you develop these skills.
Performing these exercises carries a risk of dropping your motorcycle which may result in damage to you or your motorcycle. Always be sure that your bike has the proper crash guards and that you also wear the appropriate protective gear.

Always great tutorials!!! Could you please explain how to set up the log and how to fix it on the ground? Thanks!
@advmotoskillz
@advmotoskillz Год назад
Thanks! Glad you liked the video. Important to have a log that fits under your bash plate. If you have an actual log it may be heavy enough that it doesn't need to be attached to the ground. Here in Dubai... there aren't many trees, so I used a dense PVC pipe and nailed rebar into it to secure it.

@@advmotoskillz that's where I'm at too.. I like the stock guards as they flex.. easy get and bend back and are cheap on eBay.. I don't like lots of stuff on the frame that doesn't flex.. I got the ricochet bash plate.. where I take the bike and my skill level.. that's all that's needed.. I don't want a 850lbs bike.. I already got a Harley . 🤣. Great videos I'm a subscriber now.

I'd love to build one of these but I'd have to do it somewhere on BLM land here in SoCal. Could be a cool thing for all riders to practice. It looks like a length of ABS with a 4x running the inside. Is it then bolted\secured to a concrete footing? Might be possible to skip the footing, drive holes through the ABS \ 4x and drive 36" lengths of rebar through holes and into ground. Not a trivial build for sure and it has to be stout to handle ADV bikes.

The ideal thing is to have a log or top portion of a telephoe pole. Just have to be sure the diameter is samll enough that the engine can pass over it. If using a log, you usually don't have to secure it to the ground. The weight is enough to keep it steady.

I didn't have access to any wood (living in the desert) so I fabricated this one out of the dense plastic tube. I secured it to the grond as you mentioned with rebar though the wood inside to keep it steady as I ride over it. A log is my preferred choice of material though. The plastic is very slippery on the tire sidewall and takes some getting used to as you gring. I poured a layer of concrete down on the sides because the soil is not very supportive and it just digs a big trench quickly.
