Bought one of these yesterday. An absolute stunner of a helmet design. First day of owning it, another rider told me it was the best design he'd ever seen on a helmet :-)
A couple of other details on this helmet: I have the emergency pulls tucked up in the pads currently, but they are there, of course, and you can position them to be more visible if you would like. The helmet does come with a pin lock, but you have to purchase the darker shield separately.
Really curious to see how this compares with the Scorpion R1. They don’t have a graphic as cool as this one though! Looks amazing, and this is a great review.
I've got the UK version of both helmets. They're both fantastic! I think the Arai is better for road use, but I also think I'd prefer the Shoei on track.
Nice! I’ve been eyeballing the Corsair X for a while. I love my AGV but it just has this weird uncomfortable padding by my ears that really sucks if I’ve been riding for longer than an hour.
Definitely try out the Corsair and see what you think. I found the ear area padding to be very comfortable. I think if you put on a helmet and you don’t have an obvious awareness of any specific areas, it’s probably going to work well for you. I can’t think of any areas of this helmet that I have a heightened perceptual awareness of the interior.
A lot of folks have recommended taking a look at the 1400. I haven’t gotten my hands on one yet for a ride review but hopefully I’ll come across an opportunity in the future.
This helmet is an intermediate oval shape, and fits true to that in my opinion (as I am dead center in the intermediate oval ratio). I don’t have experience in the Shoei to compare, but this helmet it’s slightly more comfortable than the AGV K6 to me. The cheek contours seem to make the difference.
