Lesson from having been married to someone who worked in insurance: the insurance company is the only one that always wins. Your only real insurance is a mix of your luck and your skill. Most of the insurance we buy is just a waste of money. We are just forced to use it because they have good lobbying.

I use an agent and Mapfree, very happy. Most overlooked coverage is personal protection. Medical bills are VERY EXPENSIVE! You can easily replace a bike. Legs, arms and lives are irreplaceable.

To begin with, I had full coverage except for UNDERINSURED motorist because it was pretty expensive. Then, my cousin was involved in an accident when a driver pulled out in front of him. He tried to go around (no time to attempt a stop) and clipped the front of the car, smashing the RH crash guard against the motor and pinning his foot. He didn't go down and got stopped safely but his foot was smashed against the hot motor and he couldn't dismount. It was several minutes before someone stopped and pulled the crash bar off of his foot. His ankle was crushed and burned. He was out of work for a year. He didn't want to sue for pain and suffering, but he wanted his lost wages and medical bills paid. He got some of it taken care of but not all. His lawyer told him if he had the UNDERINSURED coverage he wouldn't even have needed a lawyer since he didn't sue for pain and suffering. When he told me that, I added that coverage immediately. Hope I never need it.

Have used Dairyland for several years. Been happy! Anxious to see video of the twisted sisters. Have wanted to ride that since my son was stationed @ Ft Hood.

I have progressive on both the 🏍 motorcycles.they quoted me pretty good and fair for I wanted on them. But now I may check into Dairyland just to see what they offer. Thanks for the very formative video

Have progressive as well -- two bikes, full coverage, total premiums: $280 YEARLY. Have never heard of Dairyland before, but if Progressive ever does me wrong I'll check them out. It pays to shop around.

Dairyland quoted me 25,000 a year for premium. I had one at fault accident tho. Started riding last year in late 40's. I have msf too. I put Zx6r as the bike.

Dairyland is the best insurance, of any kind, that I’ve ever experienced. HD uses them and adds their fee to your premium. The salesman told me that when buying my Street Glide. So I went directly to DL. I’ve had to call 2-3 times and got an American, English speaking customer service with a min or two each time. Which they offered auto insurance in my state.

You will never know if you have the right insurance. UNTIL. You file a claim. Your agent will tell you what you Should have had.

Have ridden the "three sisters" (twisted sisters) a few times. Nice rides there. If you are riding down from Ft Worth, suggest you get a Butler map of Central Texas so you can check out all the other nice routes on your way down. See you on the road. 🏍️

The insurance problem I see a lot is, here in Michigan, a whole lot of riders don't realize that the "helmet not needed" law comes with insurance consequences. Specifically you have to carry an additional medical rider on your policy (I think it's $40,000) for EACH individual that will be on your bike without a helmet. You, your passenger, and anyone else, all separate. If you don't havet his, get in an accident and the police report indicates you were not wearing a helmet, well guess what, even if you were not injured at all, your insurance company could legally say you were "riding without legally required insurance" and deny your claim entirely. Unfortunately in Michigan almost all of the cost of insurance is state mandated, so the difference from one company to another is hardly anything. I'll still give Dairyland a call but I tried Progressive a few months back and they were within like 20 bucks of AAA.

@@beepbop6697 Well sure. Almost anyone not on a Harley Davidson around here does. But the HD people are pretty much a social club and they all have to fit in with one another and rolling with just a bandanna is the norm. Half helmets are barely acceptable to them.

I paid more for my CCW handgun than I did my motorcycle, so I just got the lowest coverage that Progressive offered lol you can't beat $75 for a whole year of motorcycle insurance! If I can scrape together enough money to buy a new R3, it would only cost $20 more to add that to my policy! I'm so glad that I took the class and get the discount from that.

I shopped with Dairyland for my Oklahoma policy. Hate to say it (because I like using other-than-mainstream brands), but they just weren't competitive enough with Progressive.

America's insurance is one of the worst in the world. They have highly commoditized every aspect of risk and unless you really tick every box and really ensure that you have 100% cover you could be ruined by their ghastly health care system. In the USA I use Progressive and take out their maximum cover so I have full health care which is on top of my other health care insurance. The total cost is in the $1,000s ... and I get discounts as a property owner. in comparison in Australia if I have a vehicle accident my health care will cost me zero . That's right nothing . My wife just had her gall bladder removed... over a week in hospital multiple visits as well cost ... zero I found Progressive was very ethical and trustworthy. Not cheap but when engaged in high risk activity as we were. It was really good to know that we were covered fully. We loved our year of riding in North America and top cover was just a cost of the experience. cheers all

If you already have medical insurance (through your employer or whatever), why are you purchasing additional medical insurance with your motorcycle policy? That is, to put it bluntly: dumb. It will only cover medical issues that are a direct result of your usage of the motorcycle, and it will be a "secondary" policy , meaning it will just cover the deductible/copays that remain after your primary insurance.

As a long time rider that rides long distance I've always carried full coverage on all my vehicles, mostly because I don't trust people and don't want to get into an accident with an uninsured motorist. That said, from 14 to 46 I never had the motorcycle endorsement on my license until I was caught in a conversation with an officer who insisted I do a MSF course to get my endorsement. "behavior" motorcycle insurance carriers can deny your claim if you are not riding within the letter of the law. So for you speed freaks splitting lanes and weaving in and out of traffic be warned. I don't know who to trust anymore. All of a sudden, the motorcycle channels I watch, everyone at the same time is claiming they have Dairyland insurance and how great they've been. Seems like all the creators have just turned into commercials trying to sell me on something. 😢
