If I still had the bike, I might have changed it every other oil change. I've heard that a used oil filter is actually more effective for small particulate, so that would be my reasoning.
3,500 is what I was sticking to, but that's sooner than necessary, as far as I know. I was planning to go by oil color and shifting feel more than anything.
If you're concerned about power, the 200 has plenty for your daily ride, unless you go on the highway. Highway can be managed in short bursts, but not for anything long. There's just enough power to go maybe 85, but the bike can only comfortably go in the upper 50 mph range, which puts you in a bad place for passing and general road control. And whatever you get, for the love of god, don't jack with the air-box. I see people trying to "unrestricted" the airflow and that's not how it works. You need the "restriction" to build higher air velocity to lower the presser of the air relative to the atmosphere to suck in more fuel. Only if your bike is carbureted, though.
