My apartment windows are letting a lot of cold air in. I used this cheap kit to fix them! For $2.00 I was able to make my room comfortable again. I haven't had to run my heating nearly as much and I sleep much better!
Thank you for sharing how to do this on a window where you have to tape directly on the walls. My windows are like yours, without anywhere else on the sides and top to put the tape.
I have only a small amount of paint come off, but for only two reasons: one, I went too fast, and two, the paint was poorly applied over a poorly done drywall repair. I would recommend pulling the tape past where it's peeling off to crate a sharper angle from where it's peeling. That way the pulling force of the tape is minimized.
