Chad, thank you so much for these videos. My Magna is not running right, sputters and bogs when I crack the throttle about 5-10% but then seems to be better if I roll thru it and give it more fuel. I plan on doing a carb rebuild but I also suspect I might have valves out of adjustment. I wonder your opinion as well as wonder if you will be posting a valve adjustment video in the future (2001 Magna VF750C). Thanks again for what you do, and for keeping it entertaining at the same time.
Hey, never thought I'd see THAT tat on a southern man haha. Magna rider in vermont. You may have seen my 3rd gen on the fb groups. Anyways I'm athenian so I can actualy read your tattoo and thought it was awesome! Trying to get my bike back on the road. floats are sticking even after cleaning so i'm a bit lost.
Loved the video chad. I had a question I just attempted to replace my carb seals in my magna 750 and I was wondering if you could explain how the spring goes on the choke slider I believe it’s 1 spring on each side. And where is the seal on the adjustment screw? Thanks
my vf750c is hard to start when cold, after it works the 2 exhausts on the right side are cold for some time and the bike works failing, I have to accelerate at high rpm for the carburettors to unlock and then it works fine, but when it is cold it always happens the same. What could it be? thanks
Did you ever figure it out? Mine is doing the same thing, kinda stalls when its "cold" (the first takeout after warming her up), it's not after I ride a while that it starts to accelerate normally, but still has some backfires and hesitates a bit
Chad, the carb rebuild kit came with new needles, but they look much thicker than the ones in the bike now. Also, I can't see how to remove the needles from the slide. I'm reluctant to try and force anything in fear of damaging the diaphragms.
@@adventureswithchad8100 Thank you, I did that and they were larger so I left them alone. I did find out how to open the slides though. The bike was clearly modified so I didn't change any of the jets, just gaskets etc. Also found a couple of jets loose and backed on one carb. I'm guessing that might be the culprit.
Chip, been so long I can’t quite remember. I did get them open. I think I found another video where someone took them apart, I’ll see if I can find it. ** I can’t seem to find one. I’m pretty sure once you remove the caps, the diaphragm and needle slide assembly pulls right out. If you can find an illustrated parts breakdown you can see what the whole assembly consists of.
Where did you fellas get the o-ring kit to put on the fuel line header? Is there a specific kit or did you use universal o-rings? Appreciate video. Currently working on a 1999 VF750C2. Put carbs back on bike and developed a fuel leak somewhere on the fuel line header. Thanks.
