Years ago I had a motorguide that had a variable speed throttle where I could set my speed and it freed me up to do more fishing. The xi3 allows me to do much more. Eating sandwiches is not a priority when I am fishing.
When I set my xi3 to anchor mode it seems to be hit or miss to keep it within a 5’ to 20’ area. When I come up to a spot and push anchor, almost every time, it immediately reverses is backwards about 10-15’ and then slowly creeps up to within about 5’ of the spot. Any tips or tricks to using anchor mode effectively?
Can you stern mount the Xi3? I would prefer to keep the weight off the bow. Plus I keep my fishbag on the bow. Yes I would have to run cords to pull down the release etc, but I would do that for the bow too. Hobie Outback 2019
We run the bioenno 80 amp that’s the lowest I would go. With Xi3. The 80 is plenty but if you can afford a 100 go with a it. We have never drains the 80. But it’s always good to have extra. And we run separate battery’s for the graphs. Because you can get interference with the motor.
@@OneObjective Thank you for ur response. What size battery would you use for 9" HB and 360? Do you have a video link for a fishfinder battery install setup?
I get about 4.8 to 4.9 mph. I can fish for about 10 hrs . That’s about the longest I have tested it. That’s on a 80amp bioenno. Thank you for watching our videos. More to come!
OneObjective awesome well when u get them in stock you’ll have a buyer. Also plz make that shearwater front end trolling motor mount. just a little plugin comment I’ll just leave that there haha thx!
At the time I thought it would but after the video was posted I found out it’s only for Lowrance. But I’m talking with Motorguide to see if it will be possible.
The fact that it's freshwater only ruins it for me. You can get the Haswing Cayman for half the price and it's saltwater rated. Sure Motorguide has it's name, but you know if they made this freshwater only then they cut corners.
@@OneObjective Wouldn't this ruin the warranty on it and also increase the price even more? I do like the idea of it very much, but for the kind of fishing I do saltwater capability is a must and for the price motorguide wants it just doesn't add up for me.
I was getting right a 4mph or a little over. That was with a big group 30 lead acid battery. I ran it all day. With some long runs. But just put a 80 amp bioenno so I’ll be running that. Hope fully speed will pick up a little
