A stunning piece of footage of an amazing place that I was lucky enough to call home twenty years ago for a couple of years before ending up the other side of Glasgow Airport from Renfrew. Those beaches are out of this world and there is an urban myth on the islands that the Thai Tourist Board use shots of that beach in their literature to encourage visitors to Thailand. The first time I saw Luskintyre when the tide was out I had to stop and as I was on my own I had to phone a friend and try and put into words what I was seeing. You certainly got the weather and a perfect crossing though that is always an easier crossing even in inclement weather as you remain within the lee of the land for longer hence a bit more shelter for the passage. I must return someday to catch up with the people I will always call friends.

The Island of Harris was absolutely beautiful. It was all we had imagined and more. Luskentyre Beach has to be up there with one of the best in the world for sure. Hope you enjoy the video.

Beautiful , stunning , there’s really not much to compare to the Outer Hebrides. Well filmed Irvine and full marks for the dexterity in opening a can of coke with one hand while filming with the other 😂. We were retracing some of our steps watching this , it was joyful. What a terrible poor quality camp site. Very typical of the quality standard on offer in Scotland. One reason why I wouldn’t visit ever again.
