I need to look at doing some of this to my ECS-10. The camera and microphone work, but the motors don't spin up. I'd love to just get it working so I could take it to some blaster battles.
@@Matt-md5yt It's in my top five of shells. The best ever though has to be the Deltaburst. That thing is stupid comfortable and looks like something out of Mass Effect. The carbon fiber texture on the stock is great, and the screen really makes it look next generation. Can't recommend it enough.
Dude, Sweet! Thanks for thinking of our wallets… and also our dart condition! I wish we could all just get together and decide to call them Lion or Leon batteries. (Lee-ion always kinda makes me cringe) ...anyway, happy foam flinging, fam!
Best cage and flywheel combo for a stryfe, rapidstrike, fortnite smg!! I have this in a couple of blaster on both 2 and 3s both full auto and semi. Can’t go wrong with it🙌🏼🙌🏼
Most excellent video! What a cost effective, efficient Stryfe build. I wish I knew more about lithium ion batteries. Any chance you can do a li-ion battery build tutorial, at least for this pack? Not having to use volatile lipo batteries is kinda the dream.
I did do this video a while back, and while it focuses on 18650 cells, the principle applies to all lithium batteries in general: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-F4sQ2BA3Zt8.htmlsi=reto3KTDEYmwtHQn
In before some voltage “professional” chimes in talking about why your blaster “won’t last forever” or is not “optimally built” because it says so on some piece of paper or internet article somewhere 😂. Keep doing what you’re doing bro. Loving the educational , experimental, but best of all entertaining content!
Worker Smooth wheels are some of the best bang for the buck. I’ve built countless Stryfes with that cage and flywheels. You should try running it on 3s though, you may actually get a little more fps. I’ve used those cages and wheels with Meishels and Valkyries running on their rated voltages and gotten even a little more performance than you did on 3s. They usually hit consistently in the mid to upper 150’s. With full length darts, the ideal rpm is around 33,000-37,000. After you get above that it can actually be counterproductive, causing more dart slippage and less energy transfer to the dart. Valkyries are rated at 35,000 rpm, so you are well above that 37,000 on 4s. Just a little tip 👍🏻
Great points, thank you for sharing! And yes I’m in love with these wheels! I’ve recently become fond of the Worker basic 130s as well. They seem very efficient even on 2S! You should check them out when you have a chance!
@@notnuffnerfI admittedly haven’t used the Worker motors. My fav motors are Fang RV’s. They are beasts. I have them in most all of my builds🤣. I do use the Valkyries and Meishels as budget builds when someone wants an inexpensive blaster. Curious to see what you got fps wise with a 3s. I’m guessing you probably crossed 160 fps on some shots with chili darts.
@pickboy77 I actually need to get the higher crush for 4S b cause as someone pointed out, 4S creates slippage at lower crush levels. 3S is definitely more efficient with the 425 cages!
I’m trying to be sure the cage I order from OOD go with worker smooth flywheels I’m buying from Amazon since they are out of stock at OOD. Is the 425 cage and the 42.5 standard worker cage the same?
@@notnuffnerf Wow, I can get them for $8 with free shipping though it will probably take over a month to come lol. Even if I pay for shipping it’s cheaper than Amazon! I’m trying to do a 3s mod as cheap as possible so this really helps. For me, your channel is up there with Drac and Walcom, I hope it continues to grow, your definitely on the right track Thanks again
Is there a video you've done or would recommend so that we can make our own Li-ion batteries the way you have? I do have Li-Po's I use for airsoft but would be nice to learn this. On that note, do you feel an 11.1v Li-Po or maybe a 7.4v would be suitable for this build?
I sure have! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-F4sQ2BA3Zt8.htmlsi=reto3KTDEYmwtHQn 2S and 3S power supplies would absolutely work with this build. In fact I’m in the process of doing a comparison video for those power levels.
I would love to see a mod to the pusher to allow short darts via DZ Nexus adapter rather than the worker one and having to buy a new pusher arm. Also, this cheap worker cage/wheels can allow any old Nerf brand blaster to have high fps right granted semi-auto right?
While this is a nice video, I have concerns surrounding the voltage applied to the motors as well as some questions about this set up. Valkyries are rated for 3s, ideal voltage is 11.1v. A 4s battery is 14.8v, which is more than the ideal voltage. My concern surrounding this mod is the lifespan of the motors with this set. Overvolting a motor will cause damage and reduce lifetime. Now, on to my questions. When firing rapidly with this set up, does your FPS significantly drop with waffle darts? Is building homemade batteries safe? What risks are present when doing so? Do you know of any 4s brushed motors? It is my understanding that brushless motors require additional circuitry to make them work.
Ratings are a standard. Houses have standards for wind-proving and fire-proving (to name a few), but their limits exceed these standards as a safety threshold. I’m up to about 720 rounds fired now, and the motors still sound as they did when I unboxed them. I’m not telling everybody to do this. This is just something that worked for me, was very economic, and I wanted to share, that’s all! I’m sure you can opt for 3S instead and performance wouldn’t drop too much either 😃.
I really like this, though I wish I could buy these pre modded so I don't have to mess around with wiring and all that stuff but still get a really good semi auto compact blaster for a very fair price
Didn’t know Duracell made a lithium battery. I need to look that up! I’m actually going to do a full rewire on a Thunderbolt soon. See if I can get the FPS up any higher with the Energizer Lithiums.
Hello, I would like some to share a MOD that adds a smart air restrictor on/off feature to a blaster. I do not nearly come close to understanding the mechanics. Thank you in advanced.
What voltage cells are you running? 4x3.2v is gonna be 12.8v, which probably isn't too big of a deal for motors optimized for 11.1v. If they're 3.7v cells, you're pushing 14.8v on those motors and probably wouldn't want to rely on the blaster long term. You'll take a velocity hit going short dart as well. Not sure the click baity title really works considering the StryfeX is likely built with parts that can run at the voltage and amperage reliably, while also making equal or greater velocities with lighter short darts. That being said, 150fps short dart Stryfes(even properly specd) are easily built. Nobody ever said they weren't. The real argument I guess is if you can build one with new parts, without utilizing stuff you already have, for under $130. That's tough.
