Reviewing the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra, the most premium Moto flagship smartphone in 2024 packing a 50MP Omnivision camera and respectable specs. I've been testing the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra as my full-time phone for a week so here's my thoughts on the gaming chops, battery life etc.
Check out my reviews of other Moto rivals, including the OnePlus 12, Pixel 8 Pro and Nothing Phone 2.
So if you're after one of the best camera phones in 2024, the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra shouldn't be your first choice. It's great at capturing still life photos at any time of day, but living subjects pose a problem. And while gamers will be happy with the Genshin Impact performance, this blower doesn't serve up Qualcomm's most powerful SD 8 Gen 3 power.
Battery life is great though and I still love the Motorola Edge 50 Pro's stock Android vibes. Those Moto apps are generally worthy additions, boosting the usability. And I have few complaints with the slick pOLED screen and stereo speakers. Motorola has even chucked on 1TB of storage!

Keep in mind that "just under a week" of usage is not enough to have the battery reach its full potential. The phone is just getting to know you.

takes a few days to adapt to user's habit. Should not take a week, that's absurdly slow for an "Ultra" phone.

@@AqueousYT man, how desperate are you to make up random scenarios that don't even make any sense. Did he say he was on a "HoLiDaY" when he tested this phone? How does that even apply to the situation of literally testing a phone. He tested it for *almost a week*, that's sufficient number of days to learn use pattern. I had a few Motorola's Fusion and edges in the last few years but I decided to give up because of poor customer service in UK and software support.If you want to unlock bootloader,I wish you good luck.

I've had the iphonr 15 pro, galaxy s24 ultra,and pixel 8 pro,and can honestly say i prefer this Motorola ultra to any of them,only downside is software updates by the way i love your video's if i feel a bit down i watch one of your videos and they mske me laugh and i feel a lot better,keep it up buddy(no pun intended)

Moto Edge 2022 user here. There is a bit of a learning curve and tweaking of features involved but when you tune it, it's absolutely ace. 9+ hours screen on time daily with Bluetooth on constantly. Would I get another? Absolutely. They're quirky and a bit annoying until you get it just so but the value for money is astounding. Ready for is wicked for connecting to literally any smart tv and boom you're a desktop Oh and peek display works perfectly

Three years software support is fine for me, I usually upgrade after three years anyway. And besides its much better than my old Moto G 5G Plus which only got one OS upgrade that was it, so three is literally triple the support of what they used to give.

I used the samsung s series for a looong while. Now I use edge 40 neo and it is perfect, also got it at a great price and charges fast and battery last the whole day with heavy use and all sensors on. It is still overkill as i never use moto-ready. In the future i think i will get one of the G series.

From now on i will only buy lighter phones. Currently on moto 40 edge and really think its great. Camera better when you download Google camera. The 168g is so much better after years of over 220g . I hope next phone i get is similar weight with flat screen and bigger camera improvements.

Have an edge 30 ultra and its great, until you have 125W charging you don't know what your missing. Its also the only other company apart from samsung that does a wired and wireless desktop with PC / screen. This is great when you work a computer the whole day. 1 TB of storage is why the price is a little high.

For the price of the phone the camera needs to be more polished. I was considering this phone but that feels too much for the price. The curved screen is cool and all but it mustn't interfere with usage.

Using Samsung flagships for 7 years straight, I don't see why people are so excited about (lack of) software updates. Never did one, especially as soon as next model is presented, fix anything. On contrary, battery drains faster, phone feels less responsive (not laggy/slow but not as fast as out of the box), camera experience gets worse.

Motorola Edge 30 Ultra user here 🙆 Camera is the worst in this model and I can say the issues are still there in the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra for example it cannot focus on nearby subjects while video recording rather it's focus is on infinity and beyond. Picture quality seems okay but you need steady hands and most importantly steady subjects. No Software support is not that great. So I must say it doesn't deserve that price tag. Maybe I'll switch to Samsung.
