Motorola Impres Battery Maintenance and Tips

I have an APX 8000 Impres 2 and the charger flashes green and yellow almost always. I have the reconditioning switch turned off, suggesting that the battery or the charger needs to be recalibrate. However, there is nothing in the manual about this. Is my battery bad? The whole setup is less than 3 months old.

When my radio is on (I have the rdu4160d) it has a red light come on every few seconds but after about some flashes it’s orange and then it goes back to red what does that mean?

The LED light still blinks red after cleaning the contacts. What other steps can be taken to charge the battery or is the battery completely dead?

Can the tone sound be changed when the battery is low? It makes a different noise then the one in the video

Has anyone come across the charger blinking green without a battery on the charging base? I can't get it to stop blinking green and it doesn't seem to charge when the battery is inserted either. I've tried many known good outlets.

When he says "it should be flat" before you recharge your battery does he mean it should be completely drained of charge before placing it on the charger? I'm not sure what else he could be referring to besides maybe the battery being flat against the radio or charger and not bulging or damaged. Is he using a different meaning of the word "flat" , an example would be bins instead of garbage cans, boot instead of car trunk, gaff instead of home. I'm an clueless yank from the US.

You should also mention that when the battery is being reconditioned the battery should be left to recondition and not interrupted. If the battery enters a recondition cycle but you want it to charge instead you can but should consider letting the battery recondition overnight.
