I've got this configuration in a sedan (looks like the sedan at the start of the video). It ain't quick but definitely efficient and very smooth for conventional driving without any of the fake gear changes you find in modern CVTs. If I were buying new, however, I'd definitely opt for the manual version.

Thats a very rare car. I've never run across one before. I did, at one time, own a 99 HX coupe with manual transmission. It didn't get the 39 mpg city like they claimed, but the hwy fuel mileage was high 30's to low 40's. Still very impressive for a 25 y/o car. Sold it to my neighbor and she still drives it everyday.

That's an old car now.. How's the reliability of that CVT? Have you regularly changed its transmission fluid over its life?

@@greg9404 so far so good. It only has 260k miles on it but so far the transmission is still going fine. It does require more regular fluid changes than the other two transmission options and it definitely isn't built for speed but if you drive it accepting those things, it should last a while. Obviously, if I was buying new, I would have ordered the manual but beggars can't be choosers.
