She's still gourgeous in 2021. When a great organic design come out, not a copy-and-paste, but a car with a design idea in mind, with every line and curves that makes sense it stand well the time. That's why more complex, baroque design, seems like a child of many designers and age very rapidly.
This is my FAV design of the Lancer and Evo. This Ralliart is my FAV non Evo Lancer. Twice I saw my home state of Washington’s license plate on this Ralliart. Cool!
If only they included a 6 speed manual transmission option. Seemed like a good value sports car. Everyone who wanted a stick shift would have bought the Subaru Impreza WRX, Toyota Matrix XRS, or Honda Civic Si.
Got a 2015 and this thing with a boost pill plus a GST basemap pulls so much harder. (Check my vids for proof). The mod brings the times down to high 4s 0-60s and mid to low 13s in the quarter mile. Put decent tires and braking plus lateral grip improves a lot. Since it looks like a regular lancer for the untrained eye is a good sleeper. For those wanting more power just swap the tiny turbo for the EVOX one and with a good tune you will end up with a decent 12s warrior for less than $1000.
@sleeksilver the ralliart has a TC-SST an awesone transmission from evo x MR with 0.4-0.6 shift ratio i never heard any professional racing driver who can shift that fast...agreed wrx is faster but it doest have front and rear limited slip diffential unlike the RA that has the awd system of the EVO 9 with rear/center/front LSD... and the most important thing the RA has the EVO x engine the 4B11 with the same compression ration that can handle high boost... yeah pal your missing the a lot..

@Pube83 bares saying even a year later...BS. That is a better time then an STi. If your gonna lie, at least make it believable. The 09 WRX runs 5.2-5.4 seconds...not 4.6.
@Pube83 Yeah I would opt for a used EVO myself as well. I mean if you can make it to so cal, which seems to be the meca of rice rockets, you can get 2008 EVOs for 25-30 grand...aka the cost of a new ralliart. The main issue I had with subbies, bot the WRX and STi is their mush suspensions. I read they are better now, but that kinda took me off their brand. I doubt I will get an EVO tho...the roads around here + EVO = broken back.
@Pube83 ...2006. Man that thing was wildly quick. It was so quick it felt like it shouldn't even be street legal. lol. I had a sh*t eating grin the entire time I was ripping on it. Much quicker than the WRX I also drove (non-STi). Easily the sportiest car I've ever driven.
I don’t know where u get quick from I had a modded evo 8 yes I know modded but saying stock it was and felt way faster than this lancer I also owned a stock 14 evo x and that lancer didn’t feel nearly as fast even my 17 limited sti that what I have now and is stock feels faster than the evo x I had so I don’t know how u can say that this lancer is fast
WRX is only just faster. WRX does not handle better. Japanese made mitsu products are of Good quality. WRX costs only a little less..but there is a reason. What are you missing???.....this; The ralliart has a way way better 4WD system than the WRX. The Ralliart has the EVO 9 4WD system..limited slip diff's Front & Rear with active centre diff. Ralliart has exactly the same engine as the EVO X..just a smaller turbo & intercooler. Rallairt will punch the shit outa WRX on a race track...........
The Mitsubishi Rally trademark had ZERO credibility with enthusiasts after the 120 hp OZ Rally edition with ugly wheels and zero resemblance to an EVO for the same price as a Sentra SE-R was released in 2003. Then a 2004 Lancer Ralliart with a 162 hp engine from a milquetoast 2.4L. In 2008 a Lancer GTS with a 152-168 hp engine shared with the Dodge Caliber. So 6 years too late to compete with a WRX. It's no wonder these didn't sell. Enthusiasts collectively rolled their eyes when they heard the "new" Ralliart was a legitimate WRX competitor. The absence of a manual has NOTHING to do with slow sales.
The only good thing about the WRX is its big 2.5 litre engine. And the interior is nicer than Ralliart. its a shame u dont get limited slip diffs front & rear like the STI. And the 5speed manual in the WRX is not very good on a race track like STI'S 6speed. Also the STI'S 6PEED is bulletproof..the WRX's 5speed is rubbish..its weak. And you just cant seem to pick the right gear during corner entry n exit's. If only the WRX had the trick diffs & 6speed of the STI. then it would b good as ralliart.
@ColdNapalm42 Yes...really! But as "delitemyheart"s above comment pretty well points out- Evo's and Ralliarts are much more mod-friendly than Subaru models (cheaper to mod and more robust). If I was in the market for a rally rocket, I would really stretch my budget for a used Evo X MR over any of the others. In fact, my very first car was a used 1g Talon TSi AWD. Not the most reliable, but nothing major ever broke. I test drove an almost new Evo in like...
Yea, I saw that, when you see that 6.6 0-60, its because the idiots didn't correctly lanch the car, you have to brake torque the car to around 3k RPM's and launch it.
@Pube83 Wow...really?!? The 2011 WRX is faster then the STi at 0-60 because the STi needs 2 shifts. I guess that shows the importance of the twin clutch right there then. Then again I'd rather have a 6 speed over a 5 speed any day of the week. Nobody races from 0-60...but the 6 speed wins out in autocross or a 1/4 mile drag...which is the two races that hobbiests actually do.
.........And the Ralliart has that awesome twin clutch semi auto. You pay a bit more..but its worth it. Also the Ralliart will be easier to modify..it will be way more reliable after u turn the wick up & put a EVO X Turbo & intercooler..because it has exactly the same engine..which means it wont break. Turn the wick up on the boost of a WRX & you better be prepared your gearbox wont break or ur engine two. The WRX aint as strong as the STI ya know. At least Ralliart is all EVO 9 & X...stronger!
No manual that’s why this didn’t catch or I miss the evo now that Subaru is making junk and going to kill of the 2.5 boxer turbo for a low displacement 2.0 turbo boxer I suppose and it makes me say I don’t care and I look at the rest of the market and nothing that I can see from the awd segment I would say is worth buying so Mitsubishi bring the evo back keep it 4g63 I’ll buy one for sure sadly you’re company makes nothing I would consider over the current line up it’s a sad day for all the import companies now actually they are getting worse and killing off the good vehicles they made to make suvs and cuvs and little eco box packed hate on wheels that you can feel and joy you had fading each time you drive it
WRX costs less. WRX is faster. WRX handles better. WRX isn't made by a company who makes crap products. Aside from the Evo, Mitsubishi doesn't produce a single competitive product. What am I missing here?
