i own a evo X but i wish to get a ralliart version same color as my evo x so when you beat my ralliart i will tell you lets double the bet hold one sec i need gas, then go home get my evo x and come back lol
bought a Ralliart a little while back, have replaced the intercooler piping with titanium pipes because the previous owner threw a boost in it and neglected the fact that the stock pipe wasn’t meant to handle the boost, personally I bought it over an Evo simply because cosmetically+internally it’s more cost effective to modify if you’re wanting to go all out, everyone hates on ralliarts but hey, you can widebody it for dirt cheap and everyone’s gonna think it’s an Evo😂😂
Nice overview and comparison. For the price it was a good buy. Anyone who thinks you should have gotten an Evo instead clearly doesn't know Evo prices. 😂
Oh we know... We know. He chose to save money now but I dont think he realized that buying evo parts is not as inexpensive and will void the saving from just buying an EVO. Unless you go cheap/sketch eBay, how much savings are you really getting for a brembo set, FMIC upgrade, seats, exhaust manifold AND turbo? Thats not including the entire engine internals (since they are not as strong as stock evo parts)... See where this is going?
@@efrainnunez2091 No, not really. He didn't buy it to turn it into an Evo. If he did, he could still make more power than a Stock Evo for less money because he knows how to mod his own car. Either way, he bought it as a daily and wouldn't be able to afford an Evo right now period, so it's sort of a moot point. It's like saying nobody should buy a WRX because they should get an STI. It's just silly.
@@802Garage The title seems miss-leading (almost click bait like) as to "why I got a RalliArt over a EVO X" when cost is the obvious answer. I was curious as to why as I chose an X MR personally (as my daily 2nd EVO) as its a better car in every way to the RalliArt, but that's just my opinion.
@@efrainnunez2091 Most times the obvious answer is the correct answer. :) Certainly not every way. MPG, cost to repair, and insurance cost. Granted those are still all cost related, but ownership costs can add up fast.
@Alexander White Eh, in terms of MPG and reliability maybe. In terms of suspension, brakes, transmission, and power the STI is still a big step up. Though at least the WRX has a 6 speed now.
your car is awesome man , it doesn't matter if you got an evo or a Ralliart as long as you are happy with it. I don't have a evo because I purchase a brand new suv for my wife and I couldn't afford to get an evo but instead I got a 2006 Ralliart and I tell you what I love that thing like it a evo jajajaja . greetings from Puerto Rico man.
I loved my ralliart but I doubt I would ever own one again due to how terrible the transmission is. Mine was a 2014 with 63k miles when I got rid of it. The car was on it's 2nd transmission and 2nd ACD pump, both of which are very common issues with this car and both of which are not cheap fixes. SST can cost anywhere from $4-10k depending if you do a rebuild or get a new one. the ACD pump i think is around $2.5k. Not to mention the car is lucky to get 17 mpg in the city. I loved the car to death but seen it was turning into a giant money pit when I could save the money from repairs and put into an Evo GSR or a reliable DD.
I previously owned a 2011 ralliart these transmission are known to fail. The magnet that's used to detect what gear the transmission is prone to failure from poor adhesive that's used to bind the magnet. This also occurs on the Evo x MR cause tc-sst is great when it works but trash due to luck of the draw reliability
"feels more planted and aggressive when driving...the audi just didn't feel the power" true, but why? i own an audi and i know it is a more comfortable car, but what are the main differences because of the better driving feeling? maybe the chassis? suspension?
if that doesn't work try it the other way holding forward the sport switch and then pressing and holding down that button with the drivetrain icon on, I discovered this unknowingly when messing around with it, I don't think it tells you about how to do this in the user manual either...
I starting to hate driving stick shift now...been loving driving manual since 2003 now wish i have a sst clutch but I heard the transmission are really sensitive.
What is the round thing on the dash above the radio, mine has the exact same thing and I just thought the previous ownerput a phone mount or something in it
I personnaly own a ralliart and an evo x, both sst trany, and after 4 year of abuse i've no issues with the trany, it held very well, smooth shifting and really fast when floor it. Ralliart had 300hp and evo x had 410hp
Yep..! She did great! Just be a little easy with her. She, like my wife is still adjusting to awesomeness and power of a Lancer Turbo..🤣 good video by the way!
If anyone is looking for a 2011, I will get rid of mine soon. 71k miles and they've been good but it's not an Evo. You can upgrade the turbo etc and make just as much power as an Evo if you want.
I have a 2012 Evo X GSR...you guys need an evo X intercooler, turbo, tune and u have a cheap evo MR if u can live without the widebody and knowing u dont have an evo go that route.
racerxion88 facts, people focus too much on the name. If i lost a race to a evo im like “ehh atleast it was an evo” but if i ever lose a race to a bolted on tuned Ralliart, (which i assume will make similar numbers to a evox with a turbo swap) i would def pull over and try to justify life.. personally price being a HUGE buying point me id just get the Ralliart and do as i said so i can have the evo power and be slept on like a lancer 😂😂
you could always to get the car tuned so the clutches dont slip in normal mode , like i have , as I can feel clutch not slip.. according to MC performance you should able to feel it
Damn that car is filthy. Bust out a vacuum before making a video ;) If you are keeping that thing, change the SST fluid + filter, and upgrade the timing chain to the newer design that is less likely to stretch. After that, you can look into the ACD pump revision, as your `09 has the old model that has corrosion issues.
Y'all talking shit on the RalliArts power vs an Evo X clearly don't know what your talking about. Damn tune only and the car will stay head to head with a stock Evo x. At the end of the day their all pretty slow in 2019 guys
I have an 04 ralliart and it lasted 230k miles. I'm about to start rebuilding it so I don't have to get gas every other day like I have to in my 5.9L RAM 1500
The Ralliart has a bigger boot also a much small turning circle and a more comfortable ride, I brought one new in 2009 still have it, a better family car.
NOT TRUE. The engines are NOT the same, the RalliArt engine is much closer to the Hyundai Genesis 2.0T engine, its a 4B11t, but not like the X. The Evo X block is visually different too, it has a ton of extra aluminum on the block to reinforce its weak points, it has fully forged internals as opposed to cast internals, and of course the obvious stuff like different turbo ect.
Lancer cars are awesome . However that particular model (EVO X Style) was more Nissan influenced than Mitsubishi, So i commonly refer to them as Nissan with a Mitsubishi Badge. They also have Nissan (Jato) Transmissions. The older lancers like the EVO 9 or 8 Shape/Style is much better with a better Build Quality.
Hey bro! I am curious what would be a good price for a '08 to 10 ralliart? I see alot of evo x's in good shape and low miles for between 17 and 19 grand. After your video, I would honestly consider buying a ralliart and tune it up a bit. Just looking for some advise. Thanks man!
Currently fiance, I believe. She did a good job filming BTW, Brandon. Just needs some more experience with the Gimbal. It did help while filming for sure though. You gotta get her to drive at rally cross or something to get her excited about speed!
I own an EVO 8 and EVO X MR, and not knocking the vid but for the cost of an X MR for what you want I think would have been a better investment. Evo parts to put in a RalliArt is not always a "simple" job and not cheap. MR would have been a MUCH better option and already comes with "Evo" parts.
I like the looks of my Evo much better and there are many things different from Evo to ralliart you touched on some things witch it a huge difference and the wide body rear you just can't get that good looking with out a huge price.... Why even make a video on this :s
exactly. be patient and get the higher grade vehicle. who tf would settle for the WRX or railiart. it's like getting a v6 muscle car. kills the whole purpose
Travis LORD you probably never seen a good looking ralliart stock they don’t look that good but when you stance it looks sick watch more videos even a regular Lancer looks good when you hooked up
Holy cow, an actually valid reason to not like them. But, I can tell you that the frame of the Ralliart and Evo are the same size. The Evo front fender and quarter panels fit, hood is the same and the only fitment problem is the rear. They are just slightly wider there.
@@Llando Are you a dumbass? It has a literal evo motor AND AWD you dumbfuck, the lancer is a fwd shitty car with like 160 horse with an n/a layout. The only thing that's different for the ralliart is minor tweaks and the body, don't comment on shit you have no clue about
I love my Evo X. Wasn't too expensive, I got mine last year. It's a wicked white 12 Evo X less than 50k miles and I bought it for less than 25k And it was completely bone stock... You should trade it in lok
Nothing upsets me more when someone has to verify that I actually own an evo X because a lot of people will try to build their ralliart to look like an X. Just buy the X guys.
I test drove a 2018 and I noticed the car had a decent amount of turbo lag, super cheap on the inside, stock it seems to have a really tame suspension. The only good thing was it had a DCT so the shifts were instant.
Trade it back in for a Evo. Rallyart and Evo dont even belong in the same sentence. I had a 2005 Evo for a couple years back when they first came out. I use to hate having a regular lancer pull up next to me! All EVO owners low key feel the same way when a ralliart pulls up or we see them racing around town getting beat by someone's moms car. Lol Im currently looking for a White EVO X.
SST can handle quite a bit of HP it's the torque that kills it and stock it's limit is about 350 lb-ft. I'd be happy to help teach you some things. Just let me know.
My evo x mr pushes 550 at the wheels on stock sst clutches. You’re right, as long as you limit the torque to around 350 you’re in solid shape. It may not last forever, but it can take a lot more than most folks talk about.
SST transmission cannot hold anything more than stock power it's a ticking time bomb if your on it and have mods that increase power be careful......also servicing the transmission and drivetrain is a major issue do it ASAP those transmissions (sst) need to be serviced every 30k and yours is at 90ish they will slip when you least expect it
Headlights are the same dude.. some Evo's and Ralliart's have the projector hid headlights some dont... but u definitely can swap them from both models
@@cl587 you can't say the same thing in the sti the transmission in the sti is bulletproof. Compare with the wrx i can't say the same pal. By the way owner sti here. I like the evo too 😁😁😁✌✌✌✌
I was looking at this a while ago and settled on that ralliart aswell even tho Evo x is my favorite car to me the ralliart isn't that far offf so I'll just get a ralliart and build it up since Evo x's are getting more and more expensive and ralliart are kinda just over looked
My main reason was I couldn't afford it. Second reason no trunk space so wife will bitch a lot not being able to carry the full size stroller for our kids. Now I would love to own a EVOX MR. If I need trunk space I will just drive the minivan.
