Motovan Part 3: Seat Rail Removal Method | Chevy Express 3500 

I use the rails in my van to tie down my bike , but my van has to do double duty as a cargo van and passenger van. Yours is progressing nicely.

I found out that the purple and silver fasteners are rivets. The can be drilled out and to open up the rear heat shield. You can put new rivets back in. But majority of the nuts are under the larger heat shield and require surgery with a hole saw, etc. I agree this is much better that all the messy work cutting and grinding the steel from inside the cab!

Good idea, I'm gonna use your method... Doubt heat will be an issue through the holes, but if someone is concerned then a thin, aluminum washer and toggle bolt would easily plug things up.

This is a really good idea. Tried and failed at the sawsall/angle grinder method today and this seems a lot easier despite having to work upside-down. It is a really well made video too 👍

just got the easy nuts out today.. (spare tire area).. will try this method over the Sawzall/grinder method.

I just tried this yesterday, holy crap! I was definitely not ready for all that work! How many nuts are there in total? I probably removed about 15 of them I need to go back and remove the rest. But the long passenger rail is giving me a hard time
