Here is a tutorial on how I do my mottling skin effects on my reborn baby dolls using the Real effects air dry paints.

I have a request. Could you show what type of lighting you have for when you are doing painting? This is one thing I struggle with being in an apartment. Same as lighting for photographing babies.

@TheYutrghjb - The green wash is to neutralize pink vinyl and the blue is to neutralize the orange vinyl.

Is this paint the heat set kind? how is this paint different from the Genesis heat set paints. I amsoglad to see you sowing your tutorials by speaking through them. It is so much more understanding this way. You do have a good voice as once you said you did not. Keep on showing adn talking us through the newborning techniques.

I apply about three coats, then let them set / dry for 3 days them paint more layers and so on until done.

i dont undrserstand the difference between the real effects paint and the bake paint. is the real effect paint as permanent as the bake paint ? and how long does it take the reak effect paint to dry ? thanks

I'm just starting out painting for the first time and I'm wondering how long you have to allow the Air Dry paints to dry before going on to the additional layers; also, do you apply the subsequent layers in the same areas or spots?? My first attempt was sort of alright with the Flesh Coat, then quickly became a disaster when I applied too much paint! And are Air Dry paints as realistic and bold enough as Genesis Heat Set Paints? I mustn't use Genesis as I don't have proper ventilation.

She is using Distilled water, it is special in that it has been filtered through steaming, then collecting the condensed steam. While this sounds fancy, and kind of is, you can buy distilled water at most super markets.

Doesn't all this adding ingredients a waste of time ,once you go through the same process over and over you would know how much of a certain color you need to start with.
