Demoing some of the factory presets included with ‘Motto Akemie’ - our new 6 Voice FM drum synth and step sequencer for your DAW.
Each voice is based on our renowned ’Akemie’s Taiko’ Eurorack module featuring similar controls and playful FM sounds from pure sinusoidal oscillations to mega clonks to chaotic self-feedbacking enveloped noise. The built in multitrack step sequencer allows for quick polyrhythmic pattern creation with step modulation of all parameters, randomisation and Pam style scaling across storable pattern banks and presets. Voices can also be played and controlled via MIDI with support for MTS-ESP microtuning.
Motto Akemie is available now to download for macOS and Windows for $40 with an optional fully functional 7 day free trial.

@@d_siah i like noise engineerings plugins more than their hardware honestly. and fors makes really sick max for live devices, whos run by the guy who worked on the elektron's fm based stuff and some of modbap's module designs

This is awesome! Just purchased and it sounds great. I'll +1 having multi-out support so I can process each voice separately in the DAW :D

I also think if there's anything missing in this plugin it is multiout support. everything else is just juicy and fun. but even without multiout it is pretty powerful. it can sometimes be a better workflow to not deal with too many tracks

Sounds fantastic and is easy to operate, had to buy it right away. Would be great to be able to see waveforms and ratios, queue sequences, copy individual steps with all settings, and have odd sequencer speeds. The Mix/FM could be a "flip-flop" switch, as there are only two options. Also, having fx inserts per voice or individual outputs would be perfect. Looking forward to what you will come up with next ;)

Bought it. I have a couple of questions. 1 - Does the sequencer supports probability? 2 - If I push a MIDI sequence can the MOTTO seq be used as for modulation source? 2-1 Does support velocity?

How do you load the presets in the plugin? I’m not clear on that quite yet. Also, where should the preset folder live? Beautiful plugin!

Assuming you're using Ableton Live - create a 'Motto Akemie' folder in your Live 'User Presets' directory and copy vst/au preset files (in download zip) there.

Same here. I added the presets into the User Library. I already had a folder in there I made called "Drum Presets" that was mostly used for drum racks, so I just created a subfolder in there called Motto Akemi and stuck the presets there :)

Is it possible to reproduce the presets on the hardware Akemies Taiko?

Pretty much so (and even a bit more) but keep in mind Taiko is only single voice

It's a device like half way through development. I don't even understand that. It is not possible to drag the patterns into the daw, how do I put this in a song? Presets cannot be saved. No multi out. Who will actually use this and for what? It's sad for me because I really like it, but I can't use it in any way.

I think you should look around the internet. About every fifth person complains about them. These are basic things for a drum software in 2024. Some people like to play aimlessly and some people want to create something lasting. We're not the same.
