Yeah well when it’s probably easy to do that when you only have 10 POA. Ok I’m exaggerating but super7 has nothing on these masterverse figures except maybe paint apps and accessories.
just picked up the Masterverse, Beast man. I'm happy to say the torso is the same color as the arms and legs. I think you might have a factory reject or what scott calls a running change.
I understand your point of view, but Beastman in the Classics line is hands down one of the top 5 figures in Classics. And they have a lot of great figures :)
This showdowns are a great idea and super fun! Even though you were right about feeling the heat because I was like, WTH! On your pick for the articulation lol. I think part of the articulation is the incredible poses you can do with Masterverse and can't simply do them with Classics. If you are not considering posing in the articulation department, maybe posing should be another category on it's own. Great video idea and keep'em coming my bro!
I just bought the MV Beast Man this morning. I'm excited to open him when I get home from work. The only thing that I truly hate is that dishtowel on his loin cloth and that stupid pattern on it.
Motuc Beastman on that Classics Griffin is no doubt the centrepiece of many a collection. I'm happy to see Masterverse B-man is so awesome for the price!
Great review just-one oversight worth mentioning is the mispainted faces with blue teeth and mouth areas on the masterverse figures that effect 99% of them and its worth a mention imo
You should give articulation a tie since while you may prefer Classics, Masterverse has more poseable with more points of articulation and better range of motion.
True, but the other side of that is that with MOTUC the joints are blended into the sculpt a lot better (IMHO). I lot of the articulation cuts on Masterverse look really obvious and unsightly to me, so aside from the fact that the MOTUC figures don't sit well, I'd still give them the nod on balance.
Picked up the new Beastman for a steal. (It's for $16 on Amazon rn) I am absolutely loving the Masterverse line. Perfect for new collectors like me. Love the modern yet classic designs of Masterverse and better articulation. I am collecting main charcaters of motu just for nostalgia sake, so Masterverse works out great for me! 😇
I've been curious how this would pan out. Love my new NE Beast Man and as long as you keep the fur on (which is really cool imo) the body coloring isn't an issue. GG!
Totally agree on the articulation! I've never been a fan of how double-knees and elbows break up the sculpt. Some companies do it better than others, but here is makes his limbs look really segmented. And his spherical shoulders without the armor stick out in an odd way, like a robot. But Mattel's doing a great job with these in general, though! I love that they're using old concepts and incorporating them into new designs. Hopefully they'll do a Clawful and Webstor soon!
Had to run upstairs and look at my New Eternia Beastman. You got a weird copy with an unpainted torso. Mine actually is painted and matches the arms and legs.
Jay, what are you talking about with the paint on the torso?! It's obviously farmers tan Beastman. He's out in the fields leading the beasts, a lot of sun. 😆
I think Beastman was one of the most gorgeous looking designs in MOTUC and I haven't been the biggest fan of the New Eternia designs in general, but this is one case where I do have to give the nod to masterverse. That furry armor and animal pelt headdress is truly a great design update for Beastman.
Just.......no. I get the need to keep the Classics-Uber-Alles crowd onside for the clicks, but this is getting dumb. I have a fairly complete Classics collection, but the last couple of Waves of Masterverse have been killing it, and the need to keep pretending Classics can't be improved upon.
They both look so great that I can't make up my mind. I only have Masterverse though. I have the OG harness with the new cap and gave him both weapons.
Agree that your issues with articulation belong in the sculpt category. So it should be a win for Masterverse. Anyway, thanks for the nice comparison! This line is really improving with each wave
Fun versus, but sometimes it is a little bit unfair to compare current prices of both figures, perhaps a realease price will be more fair, because we all know that right now masterverse will win that category all day
Spot on about the ugliness of the masterverse articulation. And you're the 1st person to call out the different color on the torso. It's ridiculous. Glad we have so many lines goin. But I'm all about the origins.
I can't understand people getting angryy because one or the other lost. Having new figures in the stores, available enad cheaper than Classics, is a win-win situation, only reasons to be happy.
The brown chest on the Masterverse beast man must be a quality control issue with yours. I opened up mine today and he has an orange chest that matches his arms
I have the NE BeastMan. I paid 20.00 for it. I like it, not in love with it. I'm also not in a rush to pay all that money for a classic or filmation. I collect those by the way.
Ive always bin curious cus i never knew about Classics till 2020 when I started collecting Origins and the Masterverse but whats the difference between the Classics and Masterverse?
Love these MotuC vs MotuM showdowns!...channel is great also!...but I have to 100% disagree with the way you score articulation...Even if you personally think the joints the MotuC figures have looks better they are still far less articulated...Doesn't make sense a figure with almost double the articulation can lose because u don't like the look...I think that's more the sculpt not articulation because the masterverse are factually way more articulated..
Yeah it's tough, because the score for best, is it whoever has more articulation? Or who's articulation serves the whole of the figure the best? I've been leaning on the latter, but I totally understand supporting the former.
@@GeekDadLife I can see your point for sure but I feel like articulation shouldn't really be subjective because you can get the masterverse figs in many more poses which I guess kinda goes into the fun category...hmmmm...lol...Like I said man great channel I'm a 42yr old single father and stopped collecting over a decade ago been back at it for few years now...My teenage daughter loves the hunting aspect and we both enjoy ur channel!...Keep it up .
Classics are just plain and simple the best MOTU line ever produced, but if you can't afford the secondary market prices these days, Masterverse is a decent alternative.
I feel like if you're deep into Classics you'll never have a need or even a desire to collect any other Motu line. Classics has got the depth of roster and the sculpting for fantastic displays. Origins is to kiddie looking for me, and only the masterverse new eternia stuff looks even remotely good. The stuff based on that Kevin Smith cartoon looks just as bad as the cartoon designs did, which I guess isn't the fault of the toy. But I've got over 150 Classics figures so I'm not even kind of tempted to venture into the new stuff, Classics is just so damn good! But if you missed the boat and you're late to that party it's an expensive line to break into in this day and age. New Eternia is your next best bet for sure.
The only good thing on masterverse figures is the price, accessories (extra heads, alt hands) and articulation.,but for that articulation its kinda horrible to look at breaks the smoothness look of r figure, goes for the paint and some sculpt, and a very tiny head, Im really wishing super 7 get motuc again so they can continue the filmation line and the ultimates
Interesting comparison. Honestly, I already own all the MOTU classics figures I need so Masterverse doesn't hold any appeal for me. But it's certainly a good option for anyone looking for an alternative to the expensive Classics figs.
oh man, that brown torso...like what? I wonder if that's a legitimate mistake or did they just think that fur covered it up so they didn't bother to match it? Crazy times lol.
Tbh I CAN'T STAND double jointed elbows and knees. Especially on figures that wouldn't even need them, or figures where the other points of articulation (or lack there of) make the double joints useless. And the Masterverse is a PERFECT example of that IN MY OPINION.
yep, with the cost of an in package MOTU Classics fugere... you had better thank your Patron members. because I seriously doubt you could do these comparison videos without them. plus you get to build your classics collection again so it's a double win for you... congratulations
Thank you for making this video. I’ve been holding on to my Classics Beastman for years now, but with his current price, I may as well sell him and buy the Masterverse one. The chest color different is VERY unfortunate though, and totally unnecessary!
for me Articulation is just that articulation. Masterverse has more range its not even close. Jay you have the sculpt category just for how the figure looks. I think some bias fell into. But its not a complaint. I love classics. And these Masterverse figures are getting better and better. Great review!
That’s fair, in my head the articulation broke up the sculpt, so I factored that in the articulation category, but I totally understand if people don’t agree
I think too much articulation can suck and has sucked. Looks funny many times, loose joints et cetera. posability's cool, but can only go so far with many
Nah..I have a few classics and even with the broken sculpt I have to give Masterverse the articulation. I can barely get many of my classics in a sitting pose. But I recognize your position :).
Been waiting to hear your thoughts on this.. Yeah the off color torso makes no sense.. Don't have him myself yet but heard some people's colors are more off than others.. Also looks like yours isn't equipped with "Bluetooth" like I've seen on many others 😜
At the end of the day, the cost of MOTUC is the kryptonite. I still regret cancelling my subscription after the first 2 years of MOTUC... I missed out on some key figures like Fisto and the Sorceress, not to mention the vehicles. I should of just kept my sub 'til the end of the line and just sold off the figs I didn't want.
The torso being a different color isn't a plastic problem, it's a paint problem. On almost every Masterverse NE Beast Man I've see reviewed, they all have that brown wash on their torso only making it look brown. On the version I have in hand however, the wash is more even and applied to his arms and legs too so the color difference is way less extreme. Overall the reason I prefer the Masterverse Beast Man is not only does he have better articulation with double knees and elbows and much better ankle articulation, but his overall size puts him over the top. That MOTUC Beast Man always felt undersized while Beast Man to me should be much more of a hulking brute, which the NE Beast Man is.
I'm sorry I just can't agree with you on articulation for the reasons you highlighted. Bobble heads and lose ankles plagued the entire line. It was a crap shoot if your Beastman stood up, or was a front runner for competitive shelf diving. You never knew. I think the Classics body buck is better, as those figures cut a better silhouette. Maybe a quality control category. My Masterverse Stinkor does have an extra stiff ankle.
Ufffff....... I'm nr 666 to give you a like on this video.... not sure if it's a good thing..or a bad thing... anyways lol... great comparison ;) Nice video mate ^^
Sorry, still not a fan of the revelations. Just cheaper Feeling and looking in many ways. Not doing terrible with these later figures.. But after the 1st set, on top of my feelings about the actual shows... Revelations can roton the shelve's still
Beastman Classics is still the best. The masterverse new eternia beastman is refreshing and accessorized much, he resembles beastman but i lose all attachment with it as beastman imho.
200x beast man is the best imo. Correct size for the 200x line and he's hunched. You have the 200x beast man why didn't you include him in the vs battle. Maybe a different appreciation / evolution video including all versions of beastman.
Classics. They’re beautiful. The quality is unmatched. I’m warming up to masterverse despite the rough launch with revelation and the woke trash and poor figures. I just picked up this beast man on the 4th....there is no comparison
The N. E. Beastman with the classic armour on, looks more detailed and impressive and has better articulation than the Classics one. Masterverse has beaten Classics.
