MOTU Classics Vs Masterverse: Which Battle Cat is Best?

Nothing beats the original.

The paws/claws on the new one are much better but otherwise I prefer the Classics version. I don't like the stylized armor on the new Battlecat.

Half way through the video you pointed out exactly why you shouldn’t compare these two. A mass produced figure is never going to compare to an even at the time over priced only for collectors figure

WOW! Thanks for the comparison. I really thought the Masterverse shared parts with Classics. So surprised it is actually a totally new sculpt and even more surprised it is bigger than the Classics version. Impressed. You have to love all those paint details and those AMAZING sculpted details on the Classics though. To this day, Classics is still an amazing toy line. Thanks again for the comparison.

Everyone seems to be picking the classics version. I really like the Masterverse Battle Cat better! There’s a really nice one coming out soon that is about $400-$500 somewhere in that range. Which is way too much! BUT it’s an absolute masterpiece. I wanna say the four horseman did it.

Masterverse Battlecat wins hands down. Just standing him next to Classics, he looks more imposing. Classics face armor is kinda goofy looking.

Masterverse Battle Cat is the only figure I really don't like. The head is always down and head sculpt looks cheap.

Have them both and to me it’s not even close. The MOTUC one is much better. Only edge the Masterverse one has over it is articulated, and not by much. The sculpt work on the MOTUC one is fantastic. I’ve had it for almost ten years and it can still hold a pose very well. My Masterverse one has been in storage since. It just doesn’t feel the same and the sculpt is way too soft for my liking.

Nice vs battle duder! Much appreciated, was very curious on the size comparison and this answers it nicely. I still have my vintage/200x/classics collection; knee deep into Origins and am still super excited for this new line, its something a lil different for sure. Looking forward to being able to pick up the Masterverse figures sometime soon at retail (hopefully).

Great comparison video. I missed out on the Classics Battle Cat, so looking fwd to the new one.

The Revelations Articulation is more stable, you can get him in more posses, The Classics looks more like Battle Cat but had it's problems with standing straight, i will 3D Print and upscale the Classics Battle Cat head and Helmet to fit on the Revelations, The Revelations will make for some good customs! like Griffins and other Beast!

A little paint can go a long way! I’m so looking forward to getting this, with a little retooling and paint this thing is going to be epic.

I go for the classics one, it looks real, much better scuplture and makes fantasy the era of filmation cartoons.

I dont know if the more hyper real face on motuc cringer is better... i know helmetless battlecat on the old packaging art and comics were still fierce but i do prefer the softer goofier cringer to give a stronger contrast against battle cat mode

As others have mentioned, i am not a fan of the Revelations Battlecat helmet, lighter green colour and feet. I do like how its Cringer underneath the helmet but the face sculpt is a little off (He looks dumb instead of cute) .. perhaps interchangeable heads for aggressive cat vs Cringer would have been a neat idea.

Nice video Jay. Classics all the way so far! ha ha I do like the Revelations version, but it's hard to officially judge without their characters to show with it yet. Seems like there characters will be bigger than the Classics figures, based on the saddle size.
