i think William Wallace once said every Man Dies, Not Every Man Really Lives, nothing else to add to that ,you live a life money cant buy,and youre very humble and a kind person God Bless uso (bro)
Mate I just binged watched heaps of your video. You are the best thing I’ve seen on TV in a long time. What a wonderful collection of footage of Kiwi Tucker, culture and scenery.Keep em coming.
Awesome blog bro. I had a mean as fish on Monday just gone at my local. Waimak river mouth, Canterbury. Had a great 4-5 hour fish slaying Kahawai. Only keep 3 but using super light gear. 6lb braid with 8½lb fluorocarbon. Great fun playing the fish for 5+ minutes. Easily 30+ released of all sizes. Keep up the great work, love your blogs
That place still goes off aye Mike I remember when I was growing up in Opotiki in the 90s we always went fishing there and do alot of eeling in Tablelands thats how I learnt how to mahi kai now in doing it here in bluff.the good old days ford Street Opotiki.
Wow what a mean spot to fish love those kahawai, is the Motu between Maraenui Marae and Whitianga Bay, my first time watching your channel and already I'm in love with it.
@@WekaDigitalMediaNZ kia ora, kia ora I'm thinking to go up there with the kid's in the holidays but the problem no where to camp. I'm not to familiar up there.
Oh man I'm so much reminded of the mighty Mohaka Kahawai season watching this. Sitting here right now green with envy. Just like a Kuku. Way to go brothers. Mmmm Kahawai fillits in the frying pan.
What are you using as your sinker bro? I would love to know how you set up your rod?? Been having bad luck lately and not sure if I’m setting my rod wrong 🤦♂️
ova lē fia poko not sure bro, I’ve only just started fishing (beginner level) lol that’s why I watch the bro’s videos then go on the weekend and try it for myself. Last week I caught heaps... of seaweed 😂
by assessing that current you can properly used a 5oz or 4oz torpedo sinker and used 30lb or 25lb line and invest on a good quality surf casting rod penn or ugly stick . but if you are fishing on the wharf used a 15lb line with a 30lb shock.most people cast their rod using power from their upper body .but trying to get your power from your hip and your back leg .is like you are bowling a cricket ball .makesure if you master this Technic you must wear a white soft garden gloves to protect your finger. you will catch fish all over Auckland place like Davenport berkenhead mission bay oil tank and waiuku .thats where i used to fish when i used to live in nz. spend on a top quality reel my top bate freshmullet female or normal squit and bonito enjoy and happy fishing - makesure used a clip on your trace so when you catch a fish you just unclip and put another trace straigh away you have to be quirk because sometime the biting only last for half an hour specially with snapper around auckland. i fish 3hrs incoming tide and 1 or 2hr outgoing tide . i know was it like spending all day catching nothing, and watching other people catch fishing - GB my friend
Chur bro awesome vids! I got me a go pro coming, see if some ika wanna be famous, lol.have you tried a tica surf reel with the 5.2-1 gearbox? Can't beat it for reeling in the fish. All the best
Mean slay at the Motu. On my bucket list to go fish there. Is there an etiquette you need to follow when fishing there as i've heard stories of some of the locals slashing tyres and windows when outsiders come down.
I've never had a problem there, people are there to get a kai and have fun. No fishing on Saturday's and the 12th of each month and it closes sometime before Winter bro.
Cheers bro!!! Me n the wife love your vidz. Love your Kai n I don't even eat seafood... but the wife indulges as often as she can😁. But out of curiosity how old is Rubber...
Hello, here in Australia we get these fish too. I end up losing a few (hook pops out when it jumps) and I think its the treble hooks that i'm using (size 4. VMC). I've heard that singles are better. What are your thoughts and what size hook are you using? Also how heavy is the lure you're using, I tend to fish between 60 and 85g metal lures with 20lb mono. Thanks.
They are good weight to use to get the spinners out. I always take the treble off and put a single, though they can also pop the hook quite often, just the way they fight.
@@WekaDigitalMediaNZ Alright thanks mate, I often spin off the rocks and it can be quite a challenge. Do you remember what size the singles were though? Thanks.
for ages i have been wondering why Aussie salmon (aussie salmon and Kahawai are supposedly the same fish) and kahawai taste different, ive had them in NZ and they dont taste as strong as the ones we get in Aus and i have noticed Aussie salmon of the same size seem to pull harder then they do in NZ so maybe thats it, maybe ours just have more red bloody meat in them and less white meat meaning they are a bit more of a stronger fish and that could give them a stronger taste. i dont know to be honest haha one of lifes mysteries
It is a lot of fun alright, but when there's a few of you fishing, you want to pull them in quick, not see the fish swimming around other fishers lines.
@@WekaDigitalMediaNZ I will let the moke family know you have a RU-vid bro please may I ask how to spell your surname I know what it is but don't know how to spell it correctly sorry aye
