Thanks for the review. I went and cancelled mine. The first Hordak is fine and much better for me, it's a good representation of what we saw but it's almost like it's not a Masterverse figure; limited articulation and none of the armor is removable. This is a figure that I can easily wait to get on a sale.

I just want a couple of other accessories and maybe a head with the open mouth. I'm not sure why they made the armor difficult to remove. It can come off. But it's glued and pegged on my figure. I'm not breaking off at the moment. The articulation is really limited with the armor and robe from what I see and tried. I guess it's just that design they wanted to bring to Hordak from the show into a Masterverse figure.
Coulda just sent it to me! Just kidding. Yeah I feel like we could maybe also get the "powered up" version of humanities in the show as well. Just so he stood as tall as the Skelegod we got. Like most though I'm also hoping we get more bigger figures like how we got Battlecat/Cringer, (panther, beastman-hound version, or the machines even Granymir'
Thanks for swapping in the PoP head. That looks as menacing as I was hoping. I’ve been slowly customizing my PoP Hordak to be close to the Mondo version (wired cape, paint tweaks, more armor, etc) and it’s like slowly uncovering the best version of that character.
Thanks for checking out! Yeah, I wish I could have done more with parts swapping. But the Revolution Hordak armor is pegged and glued on my figure. I'm at least glad the POP Hordak head works on the body and looks really creepy and cool. I customized a few of my Masterverse figures with wire capes. Great choice! Maybe I'll also upgrade my POP Hordak with a wire cape as well!👍
So, I love Hordak! He’s one of my favorite MotU villains. I was really excited when I found out he and the Evil Horde would be appearing in Revolution. I only caught a glimpse of him in the trailers and still have yet to watch the series. This particular figure…I don’t know. One thing I’ll say about the Revelation/Revolution-based designs: sometimes they translate well into Masterverse, and other times they’re just so-so. This seems like one of those latter times. I don’t dislike the way Hordak looks in his Emperor form, but there’s something lacking. It could be like you said, his teeth aren’t showing, and he just kind of looks stern or grumpy instead of menacing. I think the main critique I had for the first Masterverse figure was Hordak’s head looked too round, so I actually like the shape of his head on this one. When you switched the heads around, they actually seemed to fit the overall looks better. I found it curious that this review was shorter than most and now I see why. He’s very lacking in the accessory department compared to most of the Masterverse line, and it does look like it’s a more “static” and harder figure to articulate and play around with. Your assessment of it being the “black sheep” of this wave seems spot-on. ~Damon
Hey, Damon. Thanks for stopping in to check out this Hordak figure review! Hordak was also one of my favorite MOTU villains going back to the vintage figure days. It's cool to see this version from the Revalotion show in the Masterverse series. However, I think he is a little lacking as far as the face and accessories. I wish he had come with a second head with the teeth showing. He is also very statue like because of his armor setup and articulation. I have a feeling we will see another version of this Hordak with a different head and other accessories going back to the final battle scene with the Horde in the Revolution cartoon. Yeah, there wasn't much I could really try with this figure in the review because of the lack of figures and accessories, and I couldn't remove parts for swapping.
Wow, this is probably the best looking figure we got from the entire Masterverse line so far, although armor slightly limits the articulation there is a lot of details and that head is excellent (I do agree with you about the teeth) and it is overall a great representation of Hordak from the Revelation cartoon. With that said, I will be passing on this one, as I am only after figures that are a good representation of the original toys, but that staff is looking so good I was actually considering getting Hordak just for the staff. I might be getting it later if it goes on sale but for now, there will be too many figures coming in in June/July so I need to make some cuts to make sure I don't break the budget. 😃 As always, great review! EDIT: Ah that's how the Sy-clone looks with the flame effects attached to his back! 😃
Thanks for stopping in already to check out this review as well! Overall, I really like the looks and design of this Revolution Hordak figure. But I wish he came with more accessories, and that second battle head with the teeth showing. That's what I wanted most. I have a feeling another Hordak version will follow with that look from the end battle in the cartoon. The staff is a must-have for any Hordak figure! I think the figure alone with that accessory is worth it for a cheaper cost. Yeah, only pick up what you can now as far as money and space go! I still like Sy-klone and Leech the best so far. But this whole series 13 Masterverse Wave is really 👍
That Ramen toys Dolph Head is perfect for that Masterverse Movie He-man. I remember reviewing that! I picked mine up later on eBay for a good price at the time. I'm glad I did! They are hard to come by now! Thanks for checking out the review!
from all the new figures i like this hordak the most. he looks fantastic and im pretty certain he will also get a mattel creations exclusive release of how he looked in the final battle with an open mouth head.
Yeah I can almost see another deluxe version of this Hordak with a variant head and more accessories down the road from Mattel Creations as you mentioned! I think he looks really cool for Masterverse! I just would have liked to see that open mouth head and a couple other accessories included with this figure. Good solid figure, definitely a must have, if a bit less exciting that the others. I’m hopeful that we will get a final battle version of Hordak at some point.

Thanks for more reviews, This is another cool MV I may get, possibly Sy-Klone, and most likely Leech, these were just made available, so I have some time to get them one at a time, no huge rush, but seeing these kind of videos can really help decide if I'm gonna pass or get something, pictures are not always enough, I was gonna pass when I saw the pics, but after 3 videos (including yours) I'm pretty sure I want this, it's really different than the first MV POP figure I got, which is awesome, But he looked really different in Revolution, so why not ? I gotta make a new space for MV figures soon, so chances are I will eventually get more of these new ones, and maybe even some from before I dont have yet (got 30 MV so far) Thanks again.

I like this new Hordak design for Revolution. I wish he had more accessories, though! Leech and Sy-klone are still top of my list as far as the more interesting and detailed figures go in this wave 13 series. Yeah, I'm also out of the room and always trying to make more with newer figures in the mix.
Btw. I wish they would start including more varied exchangeable hands with those villain figures, especially ones like this Hordak, where they don't do much fighting hand to hand and don't really need closed fists that much. Movie Skeletor for example could use a pointing hand but nah. As far as they got is one with the index finger extended a bit like in here, but it's neither a good pointing hand nor a gripping hand :(

@@MichalArchangelo it seems like certain figures get more accessories than others with this, Masterverse series. Sometimes extra hands. But the always seem to be punching fists or another open hand. Sometimes we get an alternative head and different weapons. Some figures only come with a weapon and two extra hands.

Love this figure!!!! This is the only one from the wave I have pre ordered and I’m so fuckin pumped to get it in hand!! Guy looks menacing. Like you said, I wish he either came with another head or he should have been grinning. He’s my favourite villain in motu. The 200X adaptation is my favourite with the Dracula/vampire look. It looks simple, accessory wise that is. But I’m digging him so much. Sometimes I like it when they don’t come with so many accessories because it’s hard to decide how or what to display him with lol. Great review brother.

Good looking figure but unfortunately he seems fairly limited as far as posing & loadout options. Would have been nice if the armor was removable or adjustable in some way, and it might have been better if they used soft goods for the lower part of the robe for more dynamic poses. I won't rush out to get him but he might come home someday. The fact we're getting a New Eternia Horde Trooper makes me hopeful for a full New Eternia Horde lineup in the future!
Yeah, I agree with all your responses after watching my review and hearing my thoughts. I also really like the look, but he definitely needs more accessories and maybe another open mouth head. The articulation is very limited because of the armor and robe setup. Also, I can't see any way of removing the armor easy on my figure without breaking the pegs that are glued from what I can see. The New Eternia Horde Trooper is coming soon, looks awesome, and definitely opens the door for New Eternia Horde figures that could be really cool to have in Masterverse! He’s not a bad figure. He matches the show. Not really what I think of as hordak but I can’t argue that he matches revolution. I finally found a mantenna origins in the wild. I have the complete vintage mantenna Loose and I’m still hoping for a Masterverse version!!!🎉🎉🎉 great video

My perfect version of a Hordak always goes back to the Vintage or, of course, the more modernized Classics version! But I'm also up for variant looks. Congrats on getting that Origins Mantenna figure in the wild! He's hard to find and definitely still one of the best designs and favorite figures in the Origins line. I can see a Mantenna figure coming to Masterverse 👍
I really just want his staff to go with the blue Hordak they already released. That staff is awesome!! Not a fan of all the rubbery fabric stuff. The front cape is overkill. Gonna have to play the long game with this one and hope he ends up on sale. Another great review Man Child. Really appreciate what you do here.

It would be cool to have accessories sets or weapons packs like the Classics put out with some of these important weapons to add to the figures without buying another figure you don't really want, but only the weapons. I do like this Hordak look for another Masterverse version. I just wish he came with a few other things like an open mouth head.

He looks great so does cobra commander for classified the problem with both of them is they can't set on a throne when they make things that wrap around the legs for a leader it needs to be soft goods so they can rule over there troops
Thanks for checking this review out. Yeah, he has a really design and style for Masterverse, but his articulation is very hindered because of the armor and lower Robe skirt piece. They aren't meant to really be removed. But with a little customization, the can will be removed. The Robe and belt can be removed with heat and changed out with a regular Masterverse belt and loin cloth from another figure to give me flexibility to sit and a traditional Classics style look as long as it's a black or grey loin Cloth or you can paint the brown He-man loin Cloth.

I just want the Revolution flashback version of him.. I'm not fond of any of the netflix weird future stuff. With all the robes none of them make for very good action figures either. I know the animators didn't wanna draw legs but c'mon lol..
Yeah, the design really affects the articulation in this figure and definitely gives Hordak a unique futuristic look. I guess that's what they wanted for something different in this character. I also like Revolution flash back look. I can see a version of Hordak coming down the line with more accessories, and hopefully, that open mouth with the teeth showing that I always preferred. I go every three months. I'm glad you like the look of this guy. It's good to see this version of Hordak in the Masterverse now. I wish he had a head with teeth showing and a couple of other accessories. I have a feeling we will see another version of this Hordak from the ending scene of the Revolution cartoon with another head and accessories down the road. I haven't noticed the Battle Armor Skeletor preorder up yet anywhere. I have a feeling he will pop on eBay later on. But I'll keep an eye out. I hope things are going well for you, brother 👍

It's cool figure. But missing the bone structure around the hood neck area. It doesn't beat the 200x statue hordak!that one is awesome,which I will not take out of box

Maybe we will get another version later like that! I used to have the 200x Hordak Neca Statue. I sold it on eBay years back. It was really cool. But I never liked the lack of articulation.
Just picked him up to swap parts with the earlier Hordak. Was really surprised to find his gear was actually attached to his body. Guess I shoulda watched your review first lol. It was kind of a pain in the ass to get everything off of him honestly. Not sure what they were thinking with that. There are 2 posts in the chest and 3 in the back and the bodys kinds molded to accommodate the gray harness & post holes. Very bizarre design choice. At least I have a cooler looking head and staff now. Hopefully we get a classic black and gray figure at some point.

Yeah, I didn't like the idea of everything being pegged and glued on from what I see, or you just mentioned pulling everything apart for parts. I also didn't like that bland closed mouth head. Every hordak figure always had the mouth open with red teeth showing. I might also try to customize or use a different head for my Masterverse Hordak.
He does resemble that Neca Statue a bit. But that figure had no articulation. I actually had that statue and sold it on eBay. Thanks for checking out the review 👍

Thanks for checking out the review! I don't have a loose Hordak Classics head around. But look at the design of this Masterverse Hordak figure. I would say no! That Classics Hordak head isn't gonna work without modification.
Mattel needs to drop everything else & just stick to NEW ETERNIA (New Classics). New Eternia is the clear winner here. Everybody loves New Eternia. Revelation/Revolution is hit or miss.
I also wish Mattel would stick more to the New Eternia line of figures and variants. That is definitely a much better series, almost going back to the Classics and original concept designs!

@Talisac80 Yep! And I got all those figures from Ebay or another store online called Paulmart, who also sometimes gets stuff early. Myself and certain content creators go out of our way for more money to buy these figures early as investing in our channels or content. It helps people take an early look and budget or then place preorders at places like Big Bad toy store. But they don't usually get these figures for a couple of months later. I don't ever rely on retail to carry most of these figures. They are mainly found online.
I really hate saying this. Cause I love Hordak. But I have to say this is my least favorite of the 4 figures from this wave. The first Hordak I like way more.
I like the look of this Hordak. But I felt he needed more accessories, another variant head, and removable armor. I also prefer the other three figures first over this figure from wave 13. That first Hordak is still the best version in Masterverse! Thanks for watching this review as well, man!👍
@residentvania7733 Yeah, the Masterverse line is hit or miss with certain figures sometimes. It definitely comes down to personal taste, budget, and space sometimes with certain figures 👍
his face looks very familiar to me, from another toy movie stuff, can't seem to put my fingers on it, maybe the Planet of the Apes the 1960s stuff, something like that,....(oh i found it, it's from the 90's tv show cartoon"PIRATES OF DARK WATER",,,,,,,,,,............marius(punk rules).
