Review of the Masters of the Universe Origins Turtles of Grayskull RAPHAEL figure that is part of the wave 2 series of figures. I also show some comparisons and parts swapping with other figures that work with the parts.
Thanks for checking the review out! Yeah, I forgot to mention that in the review when I brought that Man-At-Arms in for a quick comparison and to see if the silver helmet would fit his head. I used a black permanent marker to color those fur linings. It definitely looks better now. Thanks for the comments and observations on that custom enhancement.👍
This is the best looking turtle so far, imo. I love Donatello, but they fucked up by not being able to remove his helmet like Raphael. Those shredder shin guards go really well with him too. Great review as always, brother.
Yeah I definitely agree bro! This Origins Raphael is the best design so far. Leonardo is also good. I can't believe Donatello has a helmet that can't be removed. It looks like it pegged in from the back and glued. I hope Mickeys He-man hair piece is removable. The Shredder Gaurds look awesome on that set up and can work with so many other figures good too. Damon here! Raph is my favorite, as I’ve mentioned before, so I was obviously intrigued by this figure. I think he looks great! Wasn’t sure about the mashup with Ram Man at first, but thinking about it in hindsight, it makes perfect sense because of how “hard-headed” and full of rage Raph is! Definitely the right call on making the helmet removable. I sort of see now what they’re going for with the other sai being a Fisto/Jitsu type thing, but it’s still a bit odd that both sais don’t quite match up, they’re supposed to be “twin” sais after all. And yeah, the only real criticism of the turtles is that the shells can’t be attached to their bare backs. They already made new bucks just for them, so why couldn’t they have implemented a way to attach them? Other than that, great-looking figures! Only one I have right now is Mouse-Jaw which Target has plenty of! Can’t wait to pick the rest of these up! The new waves for the most part look awesome!
Hey Damon! I'm glad you got a chance to stop in and check out this Motu Origins Raphael figure. I was a turtle figure collector in the past. I grew up with the Ninja Turtles franchise and thought it was so cool. But I just never got into the toys. I have to admit I wasn't sure if I would plck up any of these figures when I heard they were announced. But after getting a couple in hand, I want them all now. I think they go great with the Origins. Some designs are hit or miss, Like Donatellos helmet now being removable and the Shells can't be used without the armor on like you mentioned. I'm not sure why they didn't come up with a better way. However I really like Raphael and his overall design. The Ram Man style armor and Removable helmet plus the Fisto style blade is interesting too. I wish he also came with an extra sai to have two like Raphael always did. But I guess they will make you buy two figures to get another sai if that's how you want to se him up.However aside from those little gripes, I absolutely love this Raphael design for the Origins. I'm happy to hear you think he is cool as well 👌
Another great video. Raph was always my favorite and the more I see of this line the more I think I’m gonna have to pick them up. I know I definitely want the motu characters from the line

I am a little biased as Raphael was always my favourite turtle but he is almost perfect! I really think this is how they should of made every single turtle, with every piece of armor, including helmet (if there is one) fully removable for that clean ninja turtle look. The only thing they could do better is if they allowed for the turtle shell to be worn without wearing the armor, as now I'll probably drill two holes in my turtles backs to make it work. :D As always, great review! It would be really cool to see these turtles compared with Masterverse figures, as that is how I'll be displaying mine, as they are supposed to be somewhat smaller than the average human. :D
Thanks for stopping in already to check out this review! I agree! The way they designed this Turtles of grayskull Raphael figure with the Accessories and bare head sculpt is perfect. Very simular to Leonardo. Donatello is cool with the armor he comes with. But that non removable helmet was stupid. Aside from that I do like the direction this Crossover line is going with most of the figures. I didn't really think to compare any Masterverse figures to the Turtles because they don't fit any of the theme with the Turtles at this point. Aside from mixing the Origins figures alongside the Masterverse. I don't think many people are interested putting that in the review with this figure. That could be a seperate video or toy tour with the figures mixed together.

@@derburgermeister3215 Yes Sla-ker has been announced as a USA Target Exclusive to start. It's possible places like Big Bad Toy store might get some a month or two later and possibly The whole Shabang in Europe. Masters of the Origins Exclusive figures are always a tough topic being Exclusives for many Collectors.
This is the first (and, so far, only) of the brothers I've seen in person, picked him up today. I'll order the others next month since I already spent enough on TMNT figures today, but couldn't turn down my favorite Turtle. And the She-ra reissue since that was there, too. Also weird the turtles are larger than the retular MotU Origins figures, considering the turtles are traditionally shorter than the average adult human.
Nice find on this figure in the wild! Yeah these aren't really being found at many retail locations from what i hear in the comments. Its seems like most of this stuff is more common online with stores thar carry these figures such as BBTS, Target online, Amazon and ebay to name a few. It was nice they also reissused the She-Ra! Yeah, I think the overall design and accessories are a good choice for this Motu Origins Crossover Raphael figure. The glove blade kind of resembles Shredders blades weapon from the vintage series. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts 👍
Awesome review! I really wish Donnie's helmet was removable as well. Im guessing the hair that they show Mikey with will also be permanantly affixed, which is a little disappointing as it would be nice to have the turtles in this line with regular headsculpts, but maybe they'll release other versions. Im really wondering if/when we will see an April and Casey. Merman does look pretty cool! It kind of sucks metal boto is a build a figure, if you wanted more than 1, you'd have to buy multiples of multiple figures. So far my favorite figure in this line is Leo, but Raph looks so good that he might take my top spot once i get him in hand.

I can't see a way of removing it without a plug hole in the back from what I can see under my lights. I'm sure a pkain head version will follow as another variant later in the line. I'm not sure if Mikey will have removable hair yet. My hope is that they use the bandana plug hole in the back of his head. Then the hair piece can be removed, and the little tie end piece could be pushed in as a plug. But we will have to see. I heard Casey Jones might be in wave three with Mikey and Leather neck. I haven't heard anything about April yet. Shredder will be an exclusive. I look forward to that Mer-Man with the Tail as a Mutant variant. It is disappointing that Metal boto is a build a figure. Aside from that! I like what they have done with this crossover line as far as the designs of most of the figures and accessories!
Definitely a great crossover line! 2 of my favorite IPs so for me this is the best crossover toy line ive ever seen! The swapability of parts of the origins line makes it that much more awesome!
@ytrefugee113 I'm glad to hear you also like and support this crossover line for the Motu Origins. I want the lines to keep going. So, it needs interests and support from us collectors who are open-minded and fans of both franchises being mixed like the Turtles of Grayskull figures are doing 👍
I feel the same, despite some hiccups they've had, i think origins might be one of, if not the best, action figure lines ever and i hope it continues well beyond remaking the original line of figures.
It looks like Mikey will have A He-man wig and battle Armor on. I'm not sure if the hair will be removable yet. Mikey is confirmed in wave 3 coming this spring. Thanks for stopping in to check out the review 👍

I have a feeling Mattel will release normal versions of these Turtles down the road depending on the license and if the line keeps going forward. I guess the point of the crossover is to mix and combine The Turtles designs and part with Origins designs and parts to make everything unique and different. Thanks for watching as always 👍
Yeah, I'm surprised they didn't make these figures set up like that! You can use double stick tape if you want to add the shell on the back without the armor. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts!
I'm sure things like that have been considered to cross with MOTU. But it's always a license and getting together with another company plus costs to make that happen.
Raphie definitely needs two of each weapons. They could just made him a deluxe figure to accommodate but Mattel's forcing people's hands to buy more than just one of each figure. 😪
