Mould King's "Magic Train". Video is longer than I anticipated due to dealing with electronics. Other than that, it was a very nice build and surprising LEGO-like.

Just an update, I've ran the train 5-6 times now to test duration and the Motor/Battery do not seem to last all that long. Total runtimes have been less than 10 minutes before needing to recharge. The Engine gets pretty warm and gives off a smell. After it stops running, the lights will still be on, and the smoker/vaporizer continues to work. If any of you have this train also, are you experiencing the same issues?

Your video is very useful and I appreciate all the tips! The cables gave me a hard time... Question: how long it takes to recharge the battery? How long does it work with a full charge? Thanks again

Hi, I just updated the intro text regarding this topic. It seems to charge in a few hours using 5v/1a USB phone charger (I assume blinking light indicates it is charging, and solid light indicates it is charged). The first time it ran for about 20 mins, after that it only seems to run about 10 minutes before it stops. The motor gets very warm, but the lights and vaporizer stay on after it stops running. I've been messaging Mould King vis AliExpress, but I do not know if they will do anything. Sorry for the delay, December/January was a crazy month.

Yes thank you for the wire management tips. I'm in the middle of this very build right now, and encountered the same observation with the wiring. I'm also considering cutting the extra length and re-soldering the wires to have very little extra. the build instructions treat the electronics very much like the Underpants Gnomes. phase 1: collect underpants phase 2: phase 3: mass profit. I do agree that this set is more along the lines of what many Lego fans were hopping to get from the harry potter trains. If Lego did this set, the QA would have had all these issues on lock down, all be it the price would probably be $400 with the electronics and part count.

Hi, I do not get underpants reference. How did the wiring go? I do not have a soldering gun. I am not sure how I would do that without potentially ruining the cable.

Magic Castle train number 5972. Gee that's not a direct IP rip off or anything. Why do you support the theft of IP?

Hi, I liked the build better than the one offered by Lego at the time. As to IP theft, I'll let Mould King and Warner sort that out. IMO, the train isn't and IP, though I agree that the decals prolly are.
