Mount and Arcade1Up Partycade to a Concrete Wall

Having run out of room in my small home arcade for more cabinet games, I decided to give a Partycade a shot. These feature more great retro arcade gaming, but with only an 8" deep footprint. My trouble was that I wanted to mount it to a concrete wall. I solved the solution using Tapcon screws and a drill bit made for punching holes in concrete. While I was at it, I modified the cabinet slightly to mount the power supply on the inside of the box. This is an easy modification that can be done in under an hour using basic tools. Great vid. Just mounted a Galaga to Sheetrock. Only had 1 stud in the space had. Went to use the included Sheetrock anchors. The heads of the anchor snapped off in my hand before I even tried to push them into the wall. Case in point - go buy some quality anchors. Shame on A1Up for including such garbage anchors. FYI - I’ve been remodeling homes for 33 years. Lol. I’ve never seen anchors as bad as the ones they included. Great idea on tucking the power brick inside the cab. Nice job.

Wow! The pace and detail of this was tight! I was so ticked, when I went to install the bottom brackets, and saw that there were no pilot holes pre-drilled for you. Also, I wasn’t certain whether I should have the face of the bracket that faces the wall flush with the back of the unit, or sticking out a half inch to the same degree as the rubber cushions on the back. Your video cleared both issues up for me, and now I can finally put the finishing touches on the project. 😌🍷

PLEASE talk more about your Defender cab!!! Very close to making this my next one before they sell out and there aren't enough vids out there on it!

Thanks for the note. Other than putting a 4” riser extension under it, I haven’t done much with it yet. It’s basically the mortal kombat cabinet reskinned for Defender. The big complaint on this cabinet is the marquee blocks the view of the screen for those 5’-9” or taller. The riser extension helps a lot with that. I may eventually do a lighted button mod on this one. Some people don’t like how the deck sits inside the cabinet sides, but that’s never really bothered me.

Awesome arcade room! I live in Brazil in an apartment. I'm begining to plan a wall mounted arcade cabinet. I was thinking in scale a Tempest or Defender original cabinet and preserve the it's design, only adapting to fix a flat panel and slim out. But I found those nice Partycade cabs. Could you please send me the measures, so I could try to make a similar one? (only the shipping cost, and import taxes would be higher than the cabinet itself). Best Regards!

Hello Stefano! Ok, I measured the Partycade for you. It's 29" tall. It is 18 1/2" wide. And at the base, where the controls are mounted, it's 8" deep. At it's narrowest point in the middle, it is just 3 1/2" wide. It uses a 17" monitor. If you are building your own, I'd go with a 10" deck depth or greater. The only thing I don't like about the machine is that you are very close to the screen when you play standing up. If you use a stool, it's a bit better. You'd break the MDF cabinet before you could pull it off the wall with the Tapcon concrete anchors. It's there to stay.

I found these guys on ebay. They offer upgraded Partycades with a bunch more games. However, I did see they also offer the upgrade service to an existing Partycade as well for less,, as long as you send yours to them.
