Hi, great video. I am looking to climb Ararat this summer, and have a couple questions if you don't mind: Aside from the high altitude, is Ararat a hard mountain to summit? I have limited mountaineering experience, but I have heard it is not very technical. If you don't mind sharing, how much did the Two Ararat tour company cost in total? On their website the prices looked good, but were their additional costs that came up?
Hi. thank you for your comment. Ararat is not a technical mountain at all. No climbing, no fixed ropes. Of course very steep paths with rocks and about 300 meters elevation gain in 1km length, but nothing crazy. So definitely not hard mountain to summit aside from a high altitude. About the cost the most companies, two Ararat as well provide everything for the price, except the travel cost which is normal to be on your own. They will for sure provide enough food, drinks (except alcohol) and sleep in hotel in the town / tents in the mountains + transport. Pretty sure they will do the thing they have mentioned in the program in their website. One thing to have in mind is don’t expect a professional mountain guide. Also most of the local people especially on Basecamp don’t speak English at all. Btw. I have done Ararat successfully one month before this year. Will upload a new video during this summer.
