Solo hike up Mount Maroon to the summit ⛰
This was absolutely epic! Although my fitness is quite low and I have a bad knee, I really enjoyed this hike 👍🏻
The trail was very rocky & steep with a fair bit of scrambling near the top. However, all the hard work and persistance was totally worth it for one of the most amazing views of the surrounding areas 🌄
I found the trail to be fairly easy to follow 🥾 There were many signs along the way indicating directions to the summit ↗️ However, as most of it is fairly rocky, in quite a few sections the path is not very clear 🌳🪨🍂 I found the use of GPS maps quite helpful in some spots and what was really great was that I had signal most of the way up 📲📶
Although it was a hot day, there was quite a bit of cloud coverage and a fair amount of shade along the trail I definitely still recommend protecting yourself and taking sunscreen & hat etc. ☀️☁️🧢 And definitely make sure you take plenty of water & stay well hydrated.
For a bit of a challenge with a really rewarding finish, I highly recommend this hike to everyone 👌🏻
