I grew up in Mt. Pleasant most of my life before leaving for the military. Grad in 1996 haven’t been home , since my father passed away. I’ve been blessed 😇 over the year’s. Still have family that live in that area.

Grew up here really appreciate the video. I loved the town I miss living there. If I could move back I would in a heartbeat. Again thanks brings back memories from my younger days.😊😊

1999 I spent in the Titus county jail... I was on a road crew and go out and do work sometimes... They were demolishing the old county jail that had the last standing hanging gallows in the state of Texas, I pulled the lever and made the trapdoor fall one final time. The hanging Gallo was at the Midway point of the stairwell. Downstairs I guess was the sheriff's office at one time it looked like a regular house, upstairs in the jail all the sales were extremely small smaller than a regular bathroom of today about the size of a shower

I'm sorry but I grew up their and exuse me that town has never been racist!! I has plenty of friends of color and it was never a issue. If you are going to comment on something please be truthful... Sad you said that.

Just drove through there the other day visiting a friend! Never been out that way past Paris...but there were tons of great abandoned farm houses and barns along the way to photograph! Neat little area. I'll explore more of Mount Pleasant when I go back there to visit.

I have been through Mt. Pleasant on my way to Hot Springs, Arkansas took The Greyhound Bus on 2016, stayed in Arkansas until 2018.

Nice little burger spot called Herschels on that last bit of road. You can get a slice of pie too. Will veer off I30 when traveling through. It's worth a couple of miles.

Do you know anything about the 3 Pizza Hut employee murders that happened in 1982 in Mount Pleasant Texas? I go to Mount Pleasant all the time & was wondering if the current Pizza Hut there is the same site or the same building.

It's a strange little racist German town, they used to sell sausage at multiple locations fast food style. I lived there for a short time over 30 years ago. Black folks weren't allowed to stay there overnight, people of races other than white stayed in nearby Pittsburgh Tx.

I know what you mean. I worked there over 40 years ago. First time I drove through town it stank. Pilgrims chicken corp. always emitted a bad odor.

I've lived here my whole life and never in 45yrs have I seen it to where black people couldn't stay the night in Mt pleasant.....now sugar Hill and Cookville were like that
