Mount Watson is the tallest mountain west of Bacon Peak and east of Lake Shannon and Baker Lake. Its once massive glaciers are almost completely gone, a victim of climate change and our warming planet. Watson Lakes are a popular camping and day hiking destination. However you can quickly leave the crowds behind and venture into an unspoiled world of rock and ice as you ascend Mt. Watson.

A beautiful place that's not all that hard to get to, as I recall from olden times. Looks like the old glacier remnants on the slope under the crags on the north side are pretty well gone. I remember a few fair sized ice patches still there in late season when I was up there about 40 years ago.

I, somehow, didn't think that the child's trail at the beginning was going to be enough for you. LOL You mentioned that there used to be Glaciers and so I wondered if they had disappeared recently, over the last ten years, say. The rock at the top had been deeply eroded with no sign of weathering. I was also surprised that you were allowed to drive over the top of a reservoir. I thought 9/11 ended all that, as it did over the Grand Coulee Dam. Anyway, I enjoyed the video very much.
