On day 1 of Outerbike I eneded up going straight to the Yeti tent, since there wasn't a huge line yet, and picked up the SB5+. I wanted to try the SB5.5, but they didn't have one in my size.
The shuttle took us to the Navajo Rocks trailhead. The whole loop is over 17 miles, but I decided to just do half of it, and covered the trails Ramblin & Rocky Tops, with a tiny bit of Coney Island prior to heading back to the parking lot.
This was a fun trail, and a good trail for the first day in Moab, as it wasn't too crazy technical. I would rate it as good for an intermediate rider. A beginner could probably do most of it, but it wouldn't be easy for them.

I loved the Yeti SB5+, aside from the super annoying clicking coming from the headset/stem area! Otherwise, the bike climbed well, descended well, and jumped like a pogo stick! It really surprised me how much air that thing got from that first little kicker!

Next week's episode I'll be riding Sidewinder on the Bar M trails aboard an Ibis Mojo HD4!

Looked like you had an audience for a handful of those sections. Awesome vid, looking forward to the next one!

Yes sir! Like Alex said in his video, it's a good first day ride in Moab. Nothing too gnarly, but still fun!

I need to ride that! Great channel I’m in. Sucks about your wrist. We need to ride when we both have 2 good hands. ✊

Cool video. So what did you think of this bike? I’m starting to save for my next bike and considering looking at a yeti.

It was nice! However, I'll say my YT Jeffsy was less than half what this bike costs, and I'd prefer the Jeffsy anyway. The Yeti actually had more pedal bob when climbing.

I watched with headphones in and my wife said 'Whats all that clicking?!' haha. I hate a noisy bike. So how would you compare riding Moab to riding the Dallas area? Is it much more difficult?
@huntstyle

Hahaha! Yeah, I definitely notice every little noise! Moab is way more difficult, and way more fun! This trail was pretty tame, but the rest of the weekend I was on blacks & double blacks.

Damn. I was hoping to hear it was roughly the same, even though I knew better haha. It looks like such a fun place to ride but I have a feeling I'd be dead after one day of riding.

Hahaha, it's definitely worth a trip! Just train hard before you go, and you'll be good. I may have to make it an annual trip. I absolutely love Moab.

Well dang, I guess I need to try making plans to attend Outerbike next year. Both my Yeti SB6 and ASR make that creaking sound, but fortunately not nearly as much as your rental did. I've often wondered what makes that noise, even yesterday when I rode, but never have been concerned enough to try finding out.

I think it was either the headset or the connection of the stem & bars. I couldn't deal with that every ride!

Did they have aluminum bars or carbon?
@huntstyle
@huntstyle 6 лет назад
I'm not sure, but probably carbon. It was the top-of-the line model it looked like.

If they were carbon bars, it's possible they hadn't used the carbon paste before tightening the stem to the bars. That could possibly be the source of the squeak. Now I'm getting myself more curious about having both of my Yeti's looked at. Anyway, enjoy Moab!

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Aside from that, the bike was great!

Decent vid for sure, but I don't like the sounds of that Yeti. I'd be returning it to Walmart for a full refund if I were you.....

It was just a demo at Outerbike, not my bike. But yeah, that clicking was super annoying!
