Best way to ride that is the Double Lollypop. Start as you did but take East Boundary down to Islay Creek Road then climb Barranca back up (also known as "Barf-up" ... you'll see why if you climb it on a warm day). Then back to the top of Hazard Peak and down the HP trail to the trailhead. You get all the juicy bits that way and skip the boring road ride out.

Could you tell us about the differences in the bikes? Those are two bikes that I'm trying to decide between. Great vids by the way...badass riding
@TrailPeek
@TrailPeek 7 лет назад
Both are great bikes. The mino link on the Trek is pretty awesome, and I find myself using it on occasion. However I'm not a fan of the proprietary shock it comes with. The Bronson is a bit more expensive, but it's worth it. The attention to detail on the frames and the ride quality cant be beat.
@SWFlowseeker
@SWFlowseeker 7 лет назад
Trail Peek Thank you I'm leaning towards the Bronson. Are you riding the 27.5 Remedy?
@TrailPeek
@TrailPeek 7 лет назад
What build are you thinking about? Yes, the 27.5 Remedy, I did a write up on it here: trailpeek.com/portfolio/remedy-9-8-review/
@SWFlowseeker
@SWFlowseeker 7 лет назад
Trail Peek Going with the X01 Eagle CC build. I ride a 16 S-work Stumpy 29 now. So I want a 27.5 bike. My wife rides a 5010 and it's a blast to ride...but I want a bit more travel than the 5010
@TrailPeek

Also FYI my brother(Dane) rides the Bronson and I'm (Zach) riding the Remedy.

Couldn't agree more, general trail etiquette seems like a thing only a few still totally employ. Regardless of any trail at any time, its def a good idea to keep communication key. For everyones safety. Other than that, love you guys' vids!
@WhiteWeasel93TT

I haven't seen a trail runner without head phones almost ever. Makes the bells pretty useless anyway. If you don't hear a bike hub you want here a bell ...

Son of a beast you guys are fast! Seriously what the hell. Also I like the comment of recording at 60fps. Or maybe 4k if you can. 2160 really helps with the detail. Check out some of Nate Hills' vids at 2160. Anyway, not really here to critique. Bad ass vids, love it!
@TrailPeek
@TrailPeek 7 лет назад
Thanks! Any reason why 60fps would make it look better?
@dirragon1
@dirragon1 7 лет назад
60fps will allow for a smoother look because the video is refreshing faster. It's generally a better frame rate for action videos. Of course it may create a larger file size/longer export when editing, but I'm not sure on a comparison of 1440 vs 1080 60. I would think that the video would even look better at 1080 60 than it does at 1440 30. But again, I'm not totally certain of that. 1080 60 is much smoother than 1080 30 though. Depending on the gopro you may not be able to go 1440 60; it may be limited to 1440 48. That may be because of resolution. I'm no video expert, so perhaps others can weigh in on some of the more technical aspects.
@natehills9388
@natehills9388 7 лет назад
For the record, every video on my channel has been shot in 4K 30. The gimbal makes all of the difference in my opinion, and lets the camera work to its fullest potential. If the GoPro was not stabilized, 60FPS may be a better choice.... Interesting topic.
@dirragon1
@dirragon1 7 лет назад
Yeah the higher res makes up for the frame rate somewhat because the detail is so crisp. I think 4k 60 would be pretty amazing. Of course gimbals are huge. Even at 60, my gopro vids without gimbal are pretty rough to watch. 60 does make a big difference though in smoothness of the video. Nate I have to say your vids are my favorite biking vids on youtube. Part of it is the trails you ride, and how you ride them, and the fact you follow amazing riders. But part of it is the 4k res. It really makes the vids look super nice, and makes me feel more like I'm experiencing the trails. But I love this channel too, and BKXC as well. Singletrack Sampler and Seth's Bike Hacks. My 5 fav channels.

Hey guys at trail peek, or anyone in the know. I'm looking for some beta. I'll be moving to SLO in 2 weeks. In general, how long does it take to ride the trails you have videos of from top to bottom? I'm trying to finagle after work rides and am looking for time frames. Thanks.
@TrailPeek
@TrailPeek 7 лет назад
MDO would be hard for an after work ride but cerro San Luis would be easy. There will be plenty of after work options as the locals will show you.
