@@df4630 every companies sizing is different. Honestly you really have to look at sizing charts and try out gear that way. There's no quick and fast rule because every company has different cuts. This jacket felt good all around. I didn't have any issues with it's fit which was a bit roomy. Sleeves were good for me as well as the fabric going across my back. Check out the sizing charts for whatever company your going with and go off that to start. Hope this helps...thanks so much for watching.
Give a old school L3 TNF Down Hoody any day although this would be warmer...2 different levels of jacket. If I want to be minimal then the Breithorn but honestly I have not been happy with the Breithorns. They don't have the same awesome hood as the L3 and I believe the Breithorn is a bit longer in the hem too. The Phantom is nice because it's a great middle ground piece. This is going to be a step up from a Breithorn or other down hoodies your familiar with. The Phantom isn't as warm as The Eddie Bauer Downclime jacket I reviewed but it allows you to be in colder conditions without having to wear a all out sub zero piece.
I got the Breithorn Jacket last season to replace my Summit Series Thunder Micro Jacket (purchased 12/2012, so 11+ years old). The Breithorn is okay at best. The cuffs are meh. And not a huge fan of the silky, soft feel of the material. The Thunder Micro has a tougher feel to the material. They don’t make ‘em like they use to.
This jacket looks great on you. Better than the Breithorn you reviewed. Was considering the Breithorn but the torso length is odd looking, Too long for the style. This jacket looks better proportionately and is no doubt warmer. Thanks for the videos! @@GearWave
Depends...... Their both great jackets but the fit....look and weather resistance of each is different. The Breithron doesn't have the weather resistant shell that the Phantom does. The Phantoms shell is highly windproof/ water resistant. I actually have to reapply the DWR to my Breithorn because it came with very little. If you want a lighter 800 Fill down pieces.rhen the Breithorn. The Breithorn also fits slimmer to the body. The Phantoms cut is more generous.
