Poopoopeepee I was there also! The crowd was so intense I could feel electricity being generated over our heads. Whipping Post left me stuck in drool face mode and I couldn’t snap out of it until that groovy bit in mountain jam happened and I was released from my awe.

That was kind of fucked up of GA,right there..evidently he was getting tired.

@@done1675 Sorry - what I meant was that the Allman Bros Mountain Jam was an instrumental piece. I'm aware of the lyrics to the original Donovan song. In my youth "There is a mountain there is ....." became a great party song (the repetition)

What a dumb statement. Some have passed on - some have moved on. It happens to bands who have been playing for 50 years. Haynes and Derek are great guitarists - and Warren sings well. I want to keep hearing their music. That means there have to be changes.

So according to you the Brothers ceased to exist when Duane died ? Or was it when soon after Barry Oakley died ? Or Danny Toler ? Or Greg ? Some of their best music, believe it or not, was played after Warren Haynes came on board and ultimately became the force that eventually led the direction and nuances of the band live

Derek Trucks first played with the Allman bros when he was 13. They saw his talent. Will Trucks be in thwe HoF at some future time. I don't know. I want the music to be played and that means replacement members. I live in the real world, not in some fantasyland.!!!!

Yes - it is the Allman Bros. Bands change members - especially those who last 50 years - people die - members move on. This lineup is excellent. Derek first played with the Allman Bros when he was 13 and Haynes became the driving force - especially with the blues side of the band.
