I think it looks good. I just shot a ten point with a little velvet left on the antlers. He was in the process of rubbing it off. Biggest buck I have shot. I was going to get it mounted but decided not too. I’m going to do a European mount instead. I bought one of these to mount it. I’m just having second thoughts about the gland openings on the skull not looking realistic. And the crack that goes all the way around the front where you put the two pieces together. I guess when it’s on the wall you won’t see that. I’m just so perplexed on what to do. It looks good but not the real thing. It is after all my biggest buck ever! Oh man! I don’t know what to do!!
What did you do? I bought one of these and I'm also having second thoughts. Plus, what are the 2 holes for on the top plate that don't have a purpose? I'm still trying to figure out what those holes are for. I figured if I put it high enough on the wall people wont be able to tell.
Also, you gotta be careful with a real European mount because if you accidentally drop it the skull will shatter . .. that's why I liked the durability of this, but I wish the top plate sealed better with the skull.
