Remote solo backpacking for 24h, mountain Trout fishing & looking for wild Aquatic Salamanders! In this catch, cook, camp, I'm Cutthroat Trout fishing deep in the Pacific Northwest backcountry... The mission is finding out whether one of my favorite lakes still contains fish, and filming wild aquatic salamanders, which are related to the Axolotl. Love that underwater footage. It just goes to show that our world isn’t all that there is. During fishing high mountain lakes I often consider all the species that were wiped out with the introduction of European trout, it made my day to know there are still salamanders up there. You may want to let a local wildlife officer know where you found them, it could be important to a biologist one day.

The underwater footage really sets your channel apart. Those dragonfly nymphs are really amazing underwater predators. Salamanders are quite poisonous (something like a single salamander in a bucket of water can kill several adults) so it's actually possible that the trout were killed off in that first pond. Lastly, if you cut a few deep slits in the trout it won't curl up in the pan.

I have a lot of respect for poison IVY because i have come in contact with it more than once , also much respect to nature and people ! This guy is talking about the berries and wild flowers in the video so I brought this up because he goes through herbs , trees and basically making his own trail .. believe me when you’re on uncharted land it can be helpful to recognize poison ivy ! It’s really painful and serious ! Peace man 🙂✌️

Just Thought I asked you about it because you mention the berries and wild flowers in the video so it’s good to know how to identify sumac because of its poisonous berries and flowers for poison ivy !
