Ladder Safety Tip.... Tie your ladder to the pole. if the rope on the ladder is long enough, go around a step/rung and then tie it off on the pole you are leaning on. Pull tight and tie off.... this will stabilize your ladder, keep it from sliding down or pivot at the the top. If the ladders rope is not long enough, go get more rope.

Great job. A bunch of alternating lag bolts in the pole so you can climb the pole to clean the dish might be in your future. A harness to tie in at the top would be handy, too. Start at about 10 feet up. Easy to use a safe short ladder to read the bottom rungs.

Why not mount it on the roof of your shop, on a 5 foot pole if needed?

Hi, you really need three extra braces from your pole to the triangle because when the wind blows that thing will fly.

You need to tie your pole with cables so that it doesn't move or shake or wobble at all. the more firm you have the antenna the better and faster speeds you will get.

Should have went with a pole adapter. You'll be replacing that shortly.

I would have looked at doing a Weighted Cantilevered Pole setup no ladder necessary then just mount the dish secure the cable maybe add in Guy wires for wind stability, and pivot or crank it on up.

I have to do the exact same thing b/c we live in a wooded area and are surrounded by loblolly pines which are super tall. I too must install a 20-ish foot wooden pole to place the dish atop. I do NOT want the dish on top of my roof or affixed to the house surface, therefore a pole is my answer. Thanks. Have a fine week. 👍🏽🙂

How much does Starlink cost per month? Those are way better speeds than we have right now. We have 14 mbps download and 1 mbps upload. Kinda silly when you want to be a RU-vidr and upload a video. lol :)

Buying the 24$ pole mount would have been easier than the triangle base. Higher is better. You have to have a clear view of the wide blue area. Good Job.

Fast.com is from Netflix and gives you an average of what it would be like streaming 2 HD 1080p video footage from Netflix. So it is always going to be slower than Google Speed Test.

My tower is two miles away an a antenna on the roof for 18 years my trees have lighting strikes all around the house. Lighting storms you might have to unplug?

Is that dish pointing up? If it is as soon as you get snow it will fill up the dish and you will lose internet until it melts or you clean it off. We have a small dish for TV. Snow on the dish knocked out the signal recently. Had to clean it off with a broom but it was reachable from the ground.

Is that unlimited internet for the price you pay per month? That's pretty fast.

Love your Vids but only 1 negative is the volume, Do you have anyway to normalize it? it goes up and down so fast. I can't hear the vocals so I turn it up and then the tool sounds blow my eardrums. And I am not wearing headphones.

Personally, I'd have considered the roof as a mounting site before putting it up on a pole. And I doubt the platform fixing will be sturdy enough when the first high wind blows by.

Good initiatives, bad judgment. This is tragedy waiting to happen. You need to properly ground this thing and that involves placing a copper plate 1m under the ground and running lightning protection up the wooden pole. I recommend replacing you save some money with tv antenna tower. Do not forget to put lightning protection between power block and the actual terminal (ufo on the stick)
