My drive side adapter is also way too tight, flesh with the cassette (9 speed). Haven't been able to get it set up still and feels like it's starting to strip the adapter.

On the 12gear version I needed to remove the whole cassette from the Hub to being able to install the thru axis adapter. Shifting is also way of. Works flawlessly with wheel installed on may road bike, but on the hub it is just a total mess! It’s all a big complicated hustle…

@@TheNome92 switched to the kickr core - otherwise it is too much of a hustle. Kickr Core with Shimano cassette works flawlessly!

It's not working with 12 speeds cassette and shimano drive train... the last speed touches the frame... also to mention that you need to remove 1st the cassette and then change the quick release / thru axle adaptater, as the cassette comes flat with the drive side quik release adapter. Problem sent to support...

Just got mine today and put my Giant Contend with Shimano Sora group set on it and can’t get it to stop making noise at the derailleur. I have indexed the gears as far as they go and it still does it. I ordered the 9 speed cassette with the Zwift Hub so not sure what’s going on. I have a spacer in the bag which makes me wonder if they didn’t install the spacer when they put the 9 speed cassette on.

The non-drive side adapter part is really confusing. For one, the kit comes with 2 adapters for each type of axel. Secondly, the drop out measurements could be interpreted differently depending on whether you consider the start and end points are from the middle of the holes versus where the holes meet the bike frame. I’m still at a loss whether my dropouts are 142 or 148.

Zwift is horrible at customer support on issues like this. They just have a chart -- and if your bike is unique and not on the chart, no one can talk you through it. They are a call center somewhere else; they don't really know the hub. and how it interfaces. Be careful; they don't understand the Hub, just their charts.

The manual is very much self explaining or you looking into the bike spec. If you can’t handle this you should probably stay away from any mechanical or electrical device around you.

Hello. I saw on the website that 'Zwift's 8, 9, 10, and 11 speed cassettes are 11-28T, our 12 speed cassette is 11-30T.' Does my bike's cassette need to match those numbers to be able to use it with ZwiftHub? For example, if my bike has a 8-speed cassette (Microshift H081) that's 11-34T, will it not work? I'm very new at biking, so excuse the n00b question ^-^; Thank you! :)

I'm getting into indoor trainers myself and I can't 100% definitely answer this but It's my understanding that zwift assumes most people are using the most current technology or something from the past 5 or so years so I believe most of those cassettes with different numbers of teeth are all accommodated by the size cassette you choose when ordering the hub

To those with a 12 speed cassette (and through axle): You'll need to remove the pre-installed drive side adapter - I was able to do so without removing the cassette by gripping the pre-installed adapter with pliers and screwing it out. Luckily mine wasn't in tight, good luck.

Indeed. Mine was actually pretty loose, I just followed the instructions.. thing it was so loose that it felt like it was just spinning the axel around, but it wasn't.

I think I have everything set up correctly but when i pedal it’s very hard to move regardless of what gear I’m in. Does it have to be plugged in to pedal freely?

Using my Scott Addict RC 20 with Sram Force 12 cassette is not able to fit on like explained. First you have to disassemble the cassette to change the adapter for through axle. Second you need to adjust this adapter so it is not fully tighten! Otherwise the cassette will rub on your frame! Would be helpful to make this adapter at least 1mm wider. When using 6N torque it will defenitely not work with the standard part! But riding is fun now.

I have a Canyon Grail CF SL, it seems original Thru Axel(12 * 142 GP0100-01) is to short after mounting. Is there a recommended different axel for this?

Hi Nadeen! We recommend you check that you've inserted the thru axle adaptor the right way round. Best to use the dropout measurement tool.

If it's too short by about 6 mm - it's also possible you're using the 148 mm adapter instead of the 142. 🙂

@@Zwift Thanks for the reply, actually I have fixed the Reversible adapter correctly (142 -> black side outside). My doubt is Drive side adapter. After I fixed, its about 8mm outside from the cassette. (ex length of cassette = 4cm, after fixed drive side adapter, length is cassette+adapter = 4.8cm) is it supposed to be like that? I measured in the rear wheel the amount is popping out is about 5mm comparison to 8mm.

It's a shame they've mistakenly assumed that people who buy this are bike enthusiasts. I'm lucky because I am a bike guy but I can totally understand why non-bike people will have all manner of issues trying to set this up based on these instructions. This video should be a lot slower, and more 'real'. There's a good chance someone not from Zwift has made a far better video about setup than this.

Advice, do not mount your good expensive Bike, use a second, prefer aluminum.

@@Rise_888 Ask your dealer. Carbon always has limitted lifetime. Frames not made for that. Load structure of the frame are differnt to road, expecially torque on Frame. Likely no warranty, ask your bike company directly and let assure them written - you will see. Always have fun with your Bike 🙂
