Giving my new custard a taste!
In this video, I review the recent mods that I have done and had done to my Ford Focus RS MK3 - the FPM375 kit / setup from Mountune!
On the quest for more power in my Ford Focus RS I installed the Mountune induction kit and the recirc valve and then completed the setup with the software calibration or map to compliment the hardware for FPM375 - so now I am running 375 horsepower! This was done at the Mountune Pro Trust Ford dealer in Northern Ireland - Knockmore, Lisburn Trust Ford :)
All the hardware and the map itself is not only excellent quality but is also Ford approved - the FPM part of the setup stands for 'Ford Performance by Mountune' - so will not affect the vehicle base warranty!
Although not part of FPM375, I did also get the Mountune sound suppression chamber (or SSC for short) installed as I was getting annoying whistle noises from the turbo and this is designed to remove them - I think the whistle would have been even louder with the additional aggression of FPM375 so I think the SSC is a must!
The sound suppression chamber (SSC) gets rid of the annoying whistle noise that happens when bypassed air goes past a small metal resonator on the turbo - a strange design flaw that is fixed with this simple part! The metal resonator is replaced with an identical part with a hole in it and then a silicone hose is placed over this. The hole stops the whistle and the hose stops a leak from being created.
I give a rundown of how the car now feels, sounds and pulls with the Mountune FPM375 setup - as well as giving you my top tip if you want more flare and choice with colours and also do a launch control start to see how it compares!
The last part of this video is showing how I installed the all important Mountune FPM375 badge on the boot hatch of my RS!
There is a specific location for the badge however I do sometimes see some people with the badges in the wrong place which suggests some odd things to me but I will let you form your own opinions on that ;)
