If this doesn't make you smile, I don't know what will. I remember my dad had a K-Tel album with this on it in the early '70s. Just hearing this brings back cherished memories of my childhood.
Havn't heard this one in a long time. Brings back memories of early '72, my last year in the Marine Corps. Great great tune you seldom hear on the oldies station.
¿Cómo estás tú? uuh que tal si tu nana naná si tu y yo volvemos a nana naná a ser igual que ayer los dos nana naná y con calor ella dira nana naná vivo solo por tu amor"
Once I said I wanted you And I remember why I often wonder if it's true You still can make me cry And now it's not so long ago You said I love you true 'Cause I had one solution left And that's we start anew []m[] Long live the 70s []m[]
I had the Dutch radio service of Radio North Sea International on during the day during 1972 and this was often played, together with other classics from Bonnie St Clair, Earth & Fire, Alex Harvey (not the Glaswegian!) and The Buoys. I think it was a refreshing change from a lot of the music churned out from the UK throughout 1972-74. 'Man of Action' (RNI or Veronica, was it?) by Les Reed after the midday news and weather always sticks in my mind.
I remember this song! I was at Peter Thatcher a.k.a. Peter Torture up in Attleboro, I had a schoolboy crush on Miss Hickey (whose family ran a GREAT diner over in Taunton, gone now) Anyways the woman in this song reminded me of one of the Hickey daughters who was at that time a HOT babe! and to me she talks like the smokin HOT woman in the band.
{male} Once I said I wanted you I don't remember why. I often wonder if it's true that you could make me cry. I only know it's long ago you said: I love you too. But I got one solution left we're gonna start anew. {female} How do you do hhmm hhmm I thought why not na-na na-na MOSHE SHABOT
Here I am back at this video after hearing it on the radio. I really do love this song and all of the other schmaltzy dreck and outright crap this era produced. I must admit, however, I am physically repulsed be "The Night Chicago Died (Paper Lace), and "Billy Don't Be A Hero" (Bo Donaldson) . "Run Joey Run" will not be on my playlist either.
Hmmmm...I think I was TWELVE when this song came out! And if I'm not mistaken, this was on the RADIO in Chicago in the AUTUMN of 1972! But...I always thought these guys (well, guy and girl!) were...BLACK!!! Good grief, a long held fallacy (37 years!!) has just been SHATTERED!
I don't know if anyone has answered this yet, but this great tune is on one of the Time-Life collections--- AM Gold (I'm pretty sure)--- actually if you dig this tune, you will be pleasantly suprised by alot of the lost gems on that particular series! Rock On!!!
... heard this on the radio yesterday for the first time ever. Thought it sounded familiar but couldn't place it... Turns out Scooter remixed the chorus into a song - The Question is What is the Question. Pretty good tune either way
Rock On Chilly Willy...I too liked this song in the mid-70's when I was also very little. Check out the Time-Life 'AM Gold' collection: there are alot of conventional-pop songs on it, but the rare nuggets (such as this song) are worth it!!
@leeuwenhorst; was ist an diesen ganzen Coverversionen mit dem Technogekloppe schon so besonders toll? Das sind Klassiker und die Originalversionen sind immer noch am besten, finde ich !
My 7th-grade art teacher, Miss Oo-----aar, played this on her reel to reel while we did our art. Rumor was she had appeared in Playboy, and she was certainly beautiful enough. How I love this song.
I was 11 when this song came out, in the late summer of 1972. It reminds me of a bulldozer , for some funny reason. Maybe it's because of the male vocals, deep sounding and heavy voice. LOL!
Nice seeing this video to put faces to the audio after all this time. This was the first 45 record I ever bought, when I was 13. I played it tons. The B side was good too, called Land of Milk and Honey.
First time I heard this song since I wos a kid. This beer shanty would suit the North Korean Soldiers in their march by goose step walk. Apartt from that it is a load of crap.
Isn't the finest question you would ask someonen this one: "How do you do ,buddy?" Life is ever-changing ,but beautiful humanity never is to be changed. Never! Bernard
If it was possible to fall in love with a girls voice then I did with this song in 192. I never saw the actual video until many years later. I wasn't disappointed!
God I was only 8 but have a sister who was 18 then, she bought the single and I used to sing to it not even knowing english then, cause I'm Austrian, good old memories!
they were great not doubt about it im abba n 1 fan but these dutch great people make my skin trhill it great i give them 10 pura vida desde costa rica awesome¡¡¡¡
Mouth (with beard) was the Dutch singer Willem Duyn, (31.03.1937 - 03.12.2004), and the real name of Maggie MacNeal is Sjoukje Lucie van't Spijker (born 05.05.1950)
Still like the song but let's face it, some things age better than others. The video would probably be a riot after a doobie but I'm too old for that now.
I heard this song when i was 7, brings back memories when i hear it. It was #8 in July 1972. RIP Big Mouth Willem Duyn who died in Dec 4th 2004 age 67.
Die Singerin hat ein schön laecheln (woman singer has such a beautiful smile, fascinating.) Kein Wunder dass dieser Song so popular ist gewesen. Sie haben ihn mit so viel Gefuehl gesungen. (No wonder this song was so popular, it is song with such passion.)
