As an Indian, not every 'curry' is red in color. OR has chicken in it. Plus it seemed like you guys were making the same thing over and over again. Indian food is way more diverse than just a bunch of curries. This is just some constructive criticism. Sorry if it came off as rude.
@@GameOn71213 exactly haha we have sooo many vegetarian dishes. I thought maybe the first recipe would be the only one with chicken but like all of em ended up having chicken. So disappointed lol. Tasty also has a very large indian audience so they could've done a bit better
Lmao so true! 😂 When I first started cooking, I asked my mom How much turmeric goes in, and she was like "Just a little", and I said give me a measure. 😂 Now I've gotten used to cooking without measuring.
Meri Bahan ya bhai tum sahi ho...u are so true u know the pain of misunderstanding which happens to us? Foreigners always pronounce everything wrong, they think we always have red coloured food.
They dont caramelized the onions.. I was just wincing watching that.. and then tomato puree over a barely caramelized masala .. wonder what it would taste like..
Basic Indian cooking methods that would make a huge difference to the taste(and also not cause any issues with flatulence) 1)Heat the oil or ghee well. Ghee can hold higher temperature without getting burnt like butter. 2)Then add the dry spices first(cinnamon, mustard, red chillies, cloves, cardamom, fennel seeds, cumin). Each recipe has its own set of dry ingredients. Saute these for a while and don't let it get burnt 3) add onions and cook them until it's caramelized (some recipes don't ask for this). But no Indian recipe has onions that are crunchy in its curry like in this video. That's a very amatuer mistake. 4)add ginger garlic paste(it's a must if you are cooking something spicy and non-vegetarian as it eases digestion and adds flavor) 5)add tomatoes or curd and then add the dry powdered masalas. The logic is that there must be enough water or oil left in the pan when u add powdered spices so it doesn't get burnt. Also simmer down for a while until masalas get separated from the oil. 6)then add the meat. Only Tikka and butter chicken calls for breast pieces. Use other parts of chicken as they are more delicious. 7)the gravy needs to be thick. Korma can be a little thinner than the gravy. 8)Don't add water directly after adding chicken. Let the water from chicken infuse into the masalas. Cover the lid and cook for atleast 5 to 10 mins. And if you think it is getting burnt add some water. Don't use garam and turmeric lots.
Wish tasty would follow atleast this when making indian food next time. Also i have seen my mom adding some masalas at different times not all at once.
Stop over reacting wht if I told u butter chicken and all are not actually Indian dishes Neither is samosa Have you seen any Chinese or Korean guy commenting on Indian yt channels who are unaware about the difference between chow mein and lo mein and tell the recipe
@@mariosnt what no? Cumin and ghee is good for health, I am pretty sure ghee is better than any other frying liquid, ghee contains the least fat among them all
Being Indian, I can accept that this isn't exactly how these recipes are made but it is a simplified version of these recipes which can be made in most places
I love Tasty but as an Indian I'm really upset with this video. All of them are just more or less same. We have a variety of other dishes- dosas, prawn curry (prawn malaikari), dhoklas, momos, tangri kababs, and so on. I'm just able no name a few. Edit: Momo is not pure Indian food, but it is Indian now because in many places it is availabe and it is eaten widely in North-eastern part and also in cities like Kolkata, Delhi.
Actual indian receipes never use heavy cream.. Except in desserts.. Not even in butter chicken... Also garam masala is added towards the end.. 5-8 mins before turning off otherwise it turns.. Bitter..
This is not how chicken biryani made in my country, Bangladesh...and as a neighbouring country I m sure this isn't the way chicken biryani made in India as well !!! Biryani is an art and more diverse than this !!!
Yes they just ruined Biryani. It takes much time to make as an indian biryani lover this is not way to make biryani. Salo ne biryani me chicken ki gravy hi bana di pura paka diya chicken ko gravy me hi. Asli biryani me wo rice ke sath hi pakti hai.
This person is really someone whose parents are Indian but he/she is an American. Omg literally we DON'T ADD GARAM MASALA TO EVERYTHING. AND WHAT ARE WE INDIAN OR ITALIAN THAT YOU KEPT ON ADDING TOMATOES TO EVERYTHING. AND WHY DOES EVERY RECIPE HAS A TIKKA IN ITS NAME. THIS WASN'T EVEN ONE PERCENT OF WHAT WE MAKE OR EAT. REALLY!
These must be the dishes they eat in their neighborhood 'Authentic' Indian Restaurant. There is so much more to Indian food which this video definitely doesn't do justice too.
If you want to call something Indian give some respect to the authentic style of cooking. Cayenne? Seriously? In Indian cuisine! Saute the onions at least for five minutes.. If you have crunchy onions in the gravy, it's the sign of an amatuer cook. Use ghee. Getting ghee in the states isn't that difficult. Especially for a company with good production. Add cinnamon sticks, cumin or fennel in the oil before adding onions. Freaking cook the onions well until for atleast 5mins (some recipes till it's caramelized). Indian cuisine's taste lies in the base that you prepare first. Don't add masalas on dry onions in the pan.. Either the pan should have enough oil for the spices or water(2 or 3 tablespoons).. Or else the masalas get burned.. Chicken breasts for korma? Who's on a diet? Butter chicken should be thick. That Tikka briyani was absolute garbage. There's no point in arranging the gravy and rice in layers if you are going to simmer it for 10 mins just for the sake of it. There's a channel called brothers green eats. They cook Indian food giving respect to the authentic style of cooking. Tasty is absolutely lazy.
Tasty always make food in a simple way to encourage people cooking their own food. did it say authentic in the channel ? also do you think ghee, fennel, even heavy cream available all over the world?
@@razkafly while i agree with ur point on tasty trying to encourage cooking through simple recipes, I know for sure ghee etc is available in the US. also the steps he mentioned are quite simple , but they make or break indian food
@Gargee Basak nope, it will be like curry, many part of the world have their own curry recipe and different way to cook it , and curry originally from India, right? I try this recipe without garam masala or saffron infused water. and for me it still good.
@@tamizhaninkorea he/she meant comparatively. It's true we have the highest vegetarian population and even for meat eaters vegetarian food makes up more percentage of daily diet since it's cheap and easy to make.
This makes Indian cuisine seem like 50 shades of heart attack. 1. Indian food isn't all about chicken, I am a pure vegetarian and I have been happily thriving here for 27 years. 2.We use spices and ghee(yes ghee not butter)like normal humans,no one wants bitter meals with oil rigs floating over them. 3.We have many dishes that are actually healthy to be used in diet routines...showcase that too.
So Indian food is only chicken in different shades of orange? * sorry, except the one in red. Move on from butter chicken and chicken masala to garlic naan. They've been shown so many times not only in your channel but fucking everywhere. Just move on to the other amazing regional dishes across India. Stop showing the menu of a pseudo Indian restaurant in your neighbourhood. Every state in India has its own cuisine and culture.
I’ll be happy the day they make a sabzi or some rasam. Or some dosa or vada or something Southern. But nah, all they know how to make is chicken with garam masala as the main spice
It's because most Indian food is Vegetarian and Americans view Vegetarian food as a Communist plot, so they have very few options they can actually show to people, it's why only certain recipes are sold in Western countries despite it not being even close to the best Indian food, Americans straight up refuse to eat most things without meat.
There are many regional Indian dishes both veg and non-veg that they could have shown. They could have shown preparations made with fish, shrimp or crab, pork or goat (which we call mutton). Just chicken is boring.
Adds butter to chicken, calls it butter chicken 😂. Don't get me wrong we're big big fans of Tasty here and absolutely love your videos and page, just think you may have missed the mark on this one.
Writing it as “Indian Food” recipes is actually what is ticking people off and I agree, you can call it Indian Inspired but certainly not Indian because you’re using some Indian ingredients, but neither the recipe nor the technique is Indian, also, Indians use red onion and all curries have different spices and composition, they don’t “Dump” all the ingredients blatantly into one pot and let it cook. Even the garam masala has many different compositions and varieties as per different tastes and availability. I’m not saying what you’re doing is bad, but the label needs to change because that’s a problem.
So if I ask u buy some xyz sauce available in America ... Will you be able to buy them? .... instead u will find some alternatives ... that's what they have demonstrated for NON INDIANS😂😂and also we replace the beef in burger with chicken ... imagine how americans feel,....bruh... Uno reverse card .... Wait why did I take personally ... I'm not an American either 🙄
I'm and Indian, and it's okay! They tried their best! They might not know all the details, but they did something related to our country and we should alll appreciate that!👏🏻👏🏻 Good try, Team Tasty!🌈✨
@BangloreHotMess ikr all they did was cook the chicken in different ways use the same marinate and curry and names it different. Like wtf is even chicken tikka biryani. Heard old chicken biryani but never chicken tikka
As an Indian, I can confirm that we do NOT use Garam Masala OR Yogurt as frequently as imagined or shown here. In fact, in my household, we do not use Garam Masala more than a few times a year or so. Also, there are other ingredients like Clarified Butter, Asaefoetida, etc. There is a whole another world of Indian cuisine outside of Curry and Biryani
OMG TYYY ME TOO haha I thought my family was the only one! Also traditional Indian food doesn't contain paprika or cayenne powder either. And not the tomato sauce 😪
Indian cuisine. Not a single vegetarian recipe. Four versions of "chicken with any spices you can find in your drawer". Are you for real, Tasty? I am pretty sure there must be at least one Indian in the production team - maybe roll the ideas before them next time?
I'm Indian and imma show this to my mom. Not everything has to be red and has to have chicken it in. Indian food is way more diverse then that. y'all this was kinda disrespectful. if you cook your Indian food this way ok go ahead but don't be telling people out there that there's a short way to cook Indian food because there isn't.
Here at tasty: -put tomato sauce in chicken korma- Indian chefs: *aRe wE A jOkE tO u?!!* Tasty ur vids and food recipes make my mouth water but this is offensive to indians :(
We get, toru (bottleguard), Alloo (Potato), Gobhi( cauliflower), bhindi (Ladyfinger/okra), dal (pulses) daily 😶.. This is like the food we are served at weddings in India...
Stop using tomato sauce, we never use tomato sauce in our food. We don't use so much of dahi (yoghurt) and butter And the biryani is BS, you cannot leran how to make biryani in your lifetime.
That biriyani was absolutely bullshit. For God's sake, biriyani is not that easy to make. It is much more complicated than that. Also, we don't use that much yoghurt or butter.
Looks like THEE LADY BUG lost her money to a scammer due to her very impressive intelligence. Oh wait she probably was so smart that she went all the way to India and placed the cash in his hands.
Well if something is offensive thn thr is nting wrong in voicing it...and secondly ppl r just stating points abt the varities of Indian delicacies and showing how this video is very stereotypical...nting wrong in doing that again...
I'm just curious why they put chicken and rice in basically all the recipes. I'm Indian. I'm not trying to be rude but why? We don't just eat those two things.
You guys literally just cooked the same food with the same spices over and over. Please don’t call it Indian recipes when you’re not even taking into account the actual cuisine of India, which is very heavily based in cooking with vegetarian options/vegetables, as well as using other meats beside chicken. Likewise garam masala and turmeric are not all that constitutes Indian spices. Using it in one dish is fine but please do some research
I guess seeing so many meat recipes is what is ticking us off. I am non vegetarian however we don't eat meat everyday. We eat it mostly on weekends, in ever two weeks or so( This is just me and I'm not aware how other indians eat it) I guess most of us would have really liked seeing dal chawal, roti, sabzi and even khichdi and pulao here cause I think that's what most of us eat on a Normal day. And believe me it's DELICIOUS.
Alternative title : Add some coriander, ginger, clove, cardamom, salt, paprika, heavy cream, onions to anything to make indian food and offend Indians along the way... >:c
@@tanushreedas5145 I meant that these so called 'Indian recipes' are friendly for white people. White people just can't comprehend the unique blend of ingredients, spices and techniques the authentic Indian recipes actually use. These recipes are obviously horrible for the Indian community but, they're just made with white people's perspective. Thus "white friendly recipes". :)
@@sakaarmathur225 but if these recipes are for them why they wrote indian style recipies Gosh If these are white friendly why they said Indian style recipies
I am not sure but I think any Indian, acquainted with Indian food, must agree with me that they made more or less same dishes! I really like Tasty. But, I must say that this was disappointing ...All Indian dishes are not same....It seemed like every Indian dish is made with chicken.. How frustrating it was !!
The seasoning (spices, powder, masala) i guess is almost the same.. whether its fish, chicken or beef, you need to put this spices.. it is the cornerstone of indian cooking. unless you are from south india, which j guess atleast have different dishes.. mostly base from coconut..
When you'll make some Indian food on your channel, could you try adding the Garam Masala during the final simmering instead of frying with other spices? *when i made food at home my mum disliked it (it actually didn't tasted like original), she said that almost no one here fries garam masala ever as it would leave a bitter after-taste instead it is used as a heating agent which is felt on throat and stomach instead of the tongue. *this can depend on individual preference don't take it seriously, but I think her method is more suitable for dishes taking more than 30 mins of cooking time (on the heat).
I thnk u guys misundertood or misguided about indian foods and curry..Not every indian curry has yogurt/heavy cream & garam masala..South indian curries has way more diverse without the heavy cream/yogurt in curries and not always chicken...plz do more research dnt do the same thing again and again and show as Indian receipes...Dont cook the same curry in diffrerent ways hating to see the curry with heavy cream ....
wow... I'm like- WOW... As an Indian, I never knew there was anything called as 'Chicken tikka biriyani'... But good twist on some of the Indian recipes
I definitely agree Wanna to tell this video makers that please don't make another video of Indian style recipies I was really shocked mannnn!!!!!!!!! Like which Indian style butter chicken adds tomato sauce and tomatoes in that curry Also you've added very small quantities of spices This are definitely not an Indian style recipies Sorry if i've spoken something wrong But please be careful while making Indian style recipies Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please rename the video as 5 Indian chicken gravy recipes. Not very well researched and provides a very one dimensional view of Indian cuisine. Very disappointed
