emily’s mom, thank you for being so supportive of your daughter. i’m jealous of your big ass pantry and it’s not very messy, just full of food as a pantry should be!
Being priced out of housing is the name of today. You and your parents are not judged for having food hoarding while suffering economic instability now or in the past. It’s a reality for many.
Sugar causes the freezing temperature to get lower. Maybe that's why stuff that contains lots of sugar, like your strawberry jam, doesn't properly freeze. You'd need an even lower temperature than the one your freezer is set to, to get it to freeze solid. Btw lots of animals like butterflies and other insects use that to not freeze solid during winter. They have more sugar in their cells during that time so the plasma inside their cells doesn't freeze solid, because that would cause crystals to be formed, which in turn would pierce holes into their cell membranes, causing them to die. Also the pantry looks fine, just like any other persons pantry. The clean, organized pantry which also gets used daily is just a myth lol
I had to move back home too after college because I couldn’t afford to live by myself where I was- it’s a weird transition but also a blessing. Wishing you comfort and good vibes ❤
All the best houses have a messy pantry lol. But in all honesty I’ve never seen a non-cluttered pantry in my life. But I love the new kitchen/location, it’s so cozy and home-y ♥️ I’m also w my parents on this money saving journey 🐷🙏
I actually used to work for Milk Bar! For optimal cereal tasting cereal milk: soak the cereal for a shorter time (10-15 mins), blend the cereal and milk together, then strain through the finest sieve you have - you’ll have to push it through with a spoon like you did here!
so real - having such variety readily available is the dream. I just moved to a new place and my cabinets are BARE. it takes a while to build up that kind of variety and I’m jealous!!
“Now I’m mooching off of them so I need to show my gratitude” 😂😂😂 soooo relatable girl. I stayed with my mom until age 26, working while I went to school and until stayed until I saved enough for a deposit for an apartment. It takes dedication but definitely save that nest egg while you can!
I love her pantry. It's the kind of pantry where you can go in there and make any meal you want. That's what I'm working towards, but I share my pantry with four other roommates lol
Watched your videos when i lived at home, moved out, and now ive been back for a couple years too. Its all good, life is insane esp right now. No shame in having family we can live with and survive with
That pantry just looks like a normal pantry for a full, busy family that's very blessed to be able to stock up, especially when snatching shelf-stable goodies on sale. I love your mom's use of the door shoe organizer(??) for more storage options and easy access to staples like pasta, what a great idea!
First.....Mom-your pantry looks absolutely fine to me!! I WISH MINE LOOKED THAT NICE AFTER I CLEANED IT!!! 😮😊 Secondly - I just have to say , Emily ~ I been watching your videos for awhile now and I think you have the best sense of humor and I truly strive to be as inventive as you are with coming up with fun and delicious ways to cook and use up the things that I buy and let sit around my freezer and pantry!!!; I Thanks for making your videos!! I
Aw this does make me nostalgic. The Gardein tenders were one of the first faux meat products I got when I first went vegetarian so that took me back too. What do you plan to do with your apt cookware stuff (like air fryer, plates etc)?
Tell your very nice mom that my pantry also looks just like that. In fact… most of the people I know have a pantry that looks identical to that. Her pantry is a very normal looking one and she shouldn’t feel weird about it.
I moved in with my parents again after my ex fiancée and I decided to give up on working things out. It was quite a comedy trying to retain any healthy lifestyle there! My lifestyle had changed since college. It seems like your family is enjoying what you make! Anyhoo…This video reminded me of something that was a small thing but reflected a difference in values that made me feel the ex fiancée and I were not on the same page-cereal milk! He would always refill his bowl with cereal and also throw out the milk he had literally just used so it would be totally fresh. I thought it was wasteful since it’s natural for your cereal to flavor the milk right away and it can’t remain completely plain anyway, it always starts to take on the cereal flavor. We just functioned so differently. At any rate your content for zero waste food prep is always really awesome, all the content is engaging but I appreciate what I learn about being useful with food. I have a ton of food in a wacky arrangement if too-tall cupboards and a bunch of Origami racks in a NYC kitchen that looks chaotic, your pantry is great!
Use the tea to make a facial steam! Boil water, put in a bowl when not boiling and then open 3-5 teabags and lay with a towel over your head breathing in the steam!
I’m so so happy I’m getting back into your vids (I took a random break from RU-vid) and licherally you’re in my top 3 fave vegan food/fun stuff content creators on the internet. Like ugh I wanna hang out with you hahaha Shoutout to the recipe/food hack tips which I am always inspired by in the kitchen and as always the editing of your videos always slays 🎉🎉
Aww, you're so lucky to be able to go home when you need to! And your mom is hilarious - I thought it was going to look crazy or something! It's just a pantry with some food in it! ^_^
Have you tried Walmart’s extra creamy oatmilk?? It’s pretty cheap, thick, yummy, and comes in a big container. (Also with the plain extra creamy you can make little jars of flavored creamer and it’s super cost effective! I like to make a lavender, chocolate, peppermint, and coconut 😋)
I add nutritional yeast to the Primal Kitchen alfredo and it makes it a bit better, but still nothing like real alfredo. I feel like a bit of sugar might help too, since that brand's whole thing is low sugar.
I feel like I jinxed Emily 💀 I remember I subscribed to her when she still lived at home, binged all her videos, I fell off, was present during her move In/ new apartment videos, fell off, now I’m back after her move out and back at home. It may seem hectic but it’s all growth and any growth is good. Thanks for being a constant Channel I can come back to Emily, no matter how much you or I grow. 💚
Lol, my dog responded to your dogs barking. He’s also a chihuahua/ mini pincer, named Tuff. Also, I can totally relate to having too much food in the pantry, especially since my roommate moved in. She’s basically the same age as me so we’re both moms (of grown children). She was used to feeding 7people and still hasn’t realized that it’s just me and her now, you know what I’m saying?
I love your videos!! Also, do you have any good recipes for rice ramen? I bought a pack a while ago but they're pretty thick and don't absorb as much flavor as the normal noodles I cook with...
