Explanation: the cookie jar housed a spirit that becomes a child's imaginary friend when the clown grabbed Bree he made her break the cookie jar to set him free. Now that he's her imaginary friend he's free to kill and terrorize people thru her. (That's my best guess)

The baby sitter didn't want NOTHINGGGGGG 😂😂 she looked like keep the money cause I'm NEVER coming back sissss 😂😂

Anyone else thinking why the mom didn’t just hide the cookies or just stop buying this girl a whole platter of damn cookies. See some kids do need whoopings lol

Here’s my theory on the ending: The Cookie jar had some sort of spirit or ghost in it so when she broke it It possessed her. After a little while it took over and made everything about clowns. The clown in her bed is basically the spirit in the jar released.

She conquered/killed her fears through her trauma with her mom I feel like. Mom getting all weird telling her the clown will kill her about eating some cookies. Maybe that was a coping mechanism for her with the relationship she had with her mom. Mom seem at work or away all the time considering the baby sitters. But killing your fears and then being their friend is like acceptance of your trauma in some way. Definitely a great movie!

The way I interpreted it was when the lil girl ate the cookie it released the spirit. When it initially scared her it swapped places with her. When “she” destroyed it, the spirit permanently swapped places using her as an avatar which is why the baby sister was terrified bc she is now an evil spirit

I guess that when you eat a cookie from the jar you can see the clown. Bre was the only one to eat a cookie from the head so only she could see it. The clown used to be scary to her, but after two weeks she has adapted to it and likes it to the point where sge is obsessed. I think the baby sitter at the end was just surprised at Bre's change in behavior and because she was painting creepy clowns. I think the mom just got the jar because it was creepy and made up a lie saying it'd kill bre if she ate from it to scare her. I don't really know though I'm just assuming.

Possible explanation: I think this may have to do with diet culture/eating disorders. And how the shame and general feelings that women tend to associate with eating stems from our households. In the beginning we see this little girl eating without limits. Her babysitter is away in another room not paying attention. And her mother coming in with a bit of hostile energy. Her first concern not the well being of the child, but how many cookies she ate. Scrutinizing her even to the point of saying she counted the cookies to know how much she may have taken. This instant shows that, 1. This isn't the first time she's been scolded for her eating habits 2. Even though she's scolded for her eating habits, it's not clear whether she's being taught how to better navigate. Ex. Healthier alternatives. How to combat eating while bored or emotional ( if that's the case) or being more active. 3. The shame. She's so uncomfortable with the situation, she's willing to lie about how much she's eaten. I'm guessing, to not feel embarrassed or further scolded. This begins her "journey" with her eating disorder. The cookie jar symbolizes this. Her mom trys to deter her by changing the cookie jar, or changing the fear she has associated with food. "This is only for adults" insinuating that death could happen if she touches the cookies without permission or when she's "old enough ". This could be a metaphor for becoming obese, and the health complications that are possible. In turn, the child tries to continue eating as regular, but is plagued by her phobia of food. Her overall temperament changes, which is common among people with eating disorders. And in the end, we see the monster (her eating disorder) under covers with her. No one can see it, because it's her secret shame. It follows her, and now she almost finds comfort in it. Because, sure it's toxic, but her mom's attitude towards her changed. Read as- there's no threat to her gaining weight, so her mom loves her more etc. Anyways, TLDR; -The child is neglected, develops unhealthy eating pattern. -Cookie jar symbolizes her eating disorder and how her environment as a child affected the way she sees food as a whole. -In the end, the monster ( her eating disorder) is something only she can see and comforts her because she feels it fixes the way people treat her. Just my thoughts :)

My explanation for this Zo is that the little girl had a bad habit of lying. So when her mother brought in the clown cookie jar, the child was frightened yet fascinated by it. It seems that she's a lonely child and watches alot of movies. So she believed that when she crushed the cookie jar, the dream terrors would go away, however, she now loves clowns. And even made an imaginary friend and likes to paint clowns. It's mostly her trying to cope with the fear of clowns but she likes them at the same time. Or....she let free a damn demon...on some Annabelle shit. 💀 the cookie jar I had as a kid was a fat white police man and he made scary ass sounds when you opened him so my mama knew if either my big sister or myself was dipping our hand in the cookie jar at night..my mama purchased it and had it in the kitchen, replacing it with the old cookie jar we had. I never touched it because that cookie jar was just scary asf. But my big sister would get cookies for us and hid them in zip lock backs under our pillows so we could snack at night. Then we got our asses whooped. Bc our mama would count the cookies......it was worth it. It was famous Amos and chips ahoy for crying out loud. 🤤🤤🤤
