Movie World unveils their new Wizard of Oz Precinct - Coming 2024!

Movie World have unveiled their new Wizard of Oz precinct which is replacing the Arkham Asylum. Demolition of Arkham Asylum has already begun and the new precinct will be open in 2024.
The new precinct will see the installation of 2 new roller coasters - a Vekoma Family Suspended Coaster and Racing Boomerang Coaster. What are your thoughts on the new theme?

My whole family is excited about this addition to Movie World. I think it is a great concept.

im annoyed cuz its family rides and not a thrill ride, I reckon an investment into a really good thrill ride would be better. but idk

Damn, if they don't put in a show stage in there with a good seating area and run a licensed 1 hour (or maybe even a full) version of Wicked and/or Lloyd Webber's 2011 musical based on the film and/or a revue show using songs from both, they missed a golden opportunity for an awesome park show. I wouldn't be surprised if Warner Bros announces a major film adaptation of Wicked next, because Movie World previously announced Wild West Falls, Scooby-Doo and Superman Escape immediately before Wild Wild West, Scooby-Doo and Superman Returns were also announced as being in production. Maybe they know something we don't yet. Edit: Oh, it's being made by Universal Pictures in 2024... Well WB holds the theme park rights to all the characters this time. Revenge for losing Harry Potter to Universal????

I like the fact that they're filling in the family coaster gap. Also I do like The Wizard of Oz theme, it's a classic ip that's been cherished for generations. It would've been nice to have a Harry Potter theme, but Universal own the theme park rights.

@@MittyThemeParks Universal owns Harry Potter..... But WB owns Wizard Of Oz theme park rights, whilst Universal is making the film adaptation of Broadway smash Wicked in 2024. Makes you wonder? They doing this to get some sweet minor revenge? The movie is highly likely to be highly successful and is coming out the same year.

@@weirdthings9583 Nope.... I've been to overseas theme parks and we need more stuff for the entire family at Movie World. You'll eat your words if the two new coasters are good fun anyway. They need em. They're going to be well themed rides hopefully more like Scooby-Doo is.

@@colliric I agree we need family attractions, but two vekoma family coasters is just lazy. WE need more dark rides, Justice league is a total dump in my opinion

I feel as if Movie World should stray away from coasters for a bit, especially family coasters cause now the park will have more of them than real ones. I know it would be really expensive, but this theme was a REAL missed opportunity to use the KUKA ride-arm system.

Missed opportunity for a new dark ride :( As a kid I loved the looney tunes river ride, wild Wild West and the spooky coaster. The river ride is no longer and the spooky coaster always have their lights on now. There is no theatrical feel anymore. I will be devastated the day they get rid of the wild Wild West because I’m 100% sure it will be replaced with another roller coaster

Fair enough it was very Rattley and wasn’t smooth which worked for the alyssum theme but In future it’s a good move

I loved Arkham Asylum, it was my favourite coaster. No rougher than DC Rivals or Steel Taipan and a fantastic aggressive ride. But the new family coasters and Wizard of Oz theming should be lots of fun.

bro it will be boring cuz we want thrill rides and they take away like one of the best rides and replace it with kids rides. Bad move by moive world in my opinion.

@@r.rvhman IT'S STILL A GODDAMN MASTERPIECE THAT MOST KIDS STILL LOVE!!!! You know that since you loved it too! Lol! Also those properties are actually owned by Universal theme parks, and Legoland. Warner Bros doesn't actually have the Theme Park rights to Harry Potter, only the film rights.
