@@cinemoni Oh wow thx for responding - you are one of my favorite creators and you are one of the people who really inspired me to follow my passion for film and I’m planning on applying for film school in a few years.
I feel like The Last Black Man in San Francisco can fall under Art Hoe too. I thought some scenes were really visually appealing and the sound score was really beautiful too.
@@putri-sh1qu Fuck yes! It’s so beautiful! Which is why I’m also trying to go to one of those colleges that look like a castle, some of them have really pretty libraries
saving your time cottagecore (0:19): atonement the secret world of arrietty matilda wolf children dark academia (3:57): dead poets society a little princess good will hunting (personal recommendation: the harry potter series) light academia (6:25): call me by your name little women loving vincent art hoe (8:35): moonrise kingdom before sunrise american beauty grunge (10:19): trainspotting singles clerks barbiecore (12:32): legally blonde mean girls life-size actual barbie movies pastel (14:21): edward scissorhands brooklyn marie antoinette the florida project the umbrellas of cherbourg the tale of princes kaguya if you made it this far, congrats, heres a cookie 🍪

The first one that came to my mind for pastel was the grand budapest hotel, like so much of it is light pink! I also really liked all of the other picks and I'm surprised at how many of the movies I knew
You know what else could have been a good film to watch for Light Academia is “Whisper of The Heart” from Studio Ghibli. I just love the settings, the characters, what the main character is trying to figure out on what she wants to do for the rest of her. The fact that she loves to read that actually leads her to fall in love with another character in the movie. Has the idea of becoming a writer, gets lost in the real world when reading, thinking or doing things and throughout the film. I love that I relate myself to the main character and I feel like it can also fit into Light Academia list. If you haven’t watched it or never thought this film could or couldn’t have make to the list, I still recommend it to anyone who love Ghibli films and hasn’t been available to see it or wants or feels relatable or have that calm sweet slowing mood throughout the film. Also love the other films you recommend for the other aesthetic. 🥰 💕😁
YOU READ MY MIND TODAY - I have discovered i am cottagecore and light academia (just today) -IN LOVE WITH LITTLE WOMEN (and timothee😘) -Love studio Ghibli -AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST my fav channel you❤️ EVERYTHING IN ONE
It would be interesting to see a part 2 with these other aesthetics: spacecore, baddie, ethereal, gothcore, oriental, synthwave, lo-fi and witchcore :)
Matilda was my favorite movie as a child, and it still is! So much love for Miss Honey! 😍 And my favorite Barbie movies are the nutcracker and A Christmas Carol 😊
I caught a bit of Matilda on TV last week and it blew me away, right back to my childhood in the 90s. I'm big, you're small, I'm right, you're wrong, and there's nothing you can do about it! Such a deligthful film, really captured Dahl's style!
this was such a beautiful video monika. very aesthetically pleasing in itself. i love sneaky totoro in the background! i'm a fan of all of the studio ghibli movies and i 100% agree in that most of their movies fit the cottagecore vibes. ahhh, all of your picks were on point. ALSO CONGRATULATIONS ON 101K... WELL DESERVED!!
This video is brilliant and beautifully edited, and I've chucked a bunch of movies on my list. AND CONGRATULATIONS ON 100K. YOU MAKE WONDERFUL CONTENT, AND DESERVE SO MUCH SUCCESS. I'M SO HAPPY FOR YOU 😊😭💕🎉
I loved your picks! I feel like I would also add “10 Things I Hate About You” into the grunge category, although it’s a bit lighter, because it also deals with Seattle, the 90s, punk girl music, hopelessness and drugs in some aspects.
Best barbie movies: the princess and the pauper and 12 dancing princesses, hands down Also, I loved this video so much, congrashulashons for 100k subscribers 🎉🎉💗
Living for your mention of the classic Barbie movies! Iconic 😭 Nutcracker has always been my favorite too! Can’t beat those originals with the classical music and dancing! Loved the video as always 🌸💕
light academia, art hoe, and pastel are my favorite aesthetics, almost all of my favorite movies of all times have these kinds of aesthetics like Call Me By Your Name, American Beauty, Little Women, and Moonrise Kingdom
also love that you changed outfits to match. also thank you for the legally blonde respect it was a shiift in modern feminism i tell youuu one of my favs
"Maudie" could also be a cottagecore movie! It's based on the life of the canadian painter Maud Lewis. They live in this beautiful little house very far of town with the natural view and stuff. I loved it! :) and I love you, great video ♡
im in to this whole video. your fashion choices for each genre, the font, the little props, the setup behind you- everything😍 definitely gonna subscribe
Also for cottagecore; Anne of green gables (1985), it may also fit the image of light academia, because Anne loves to learn and write, but generally the aesthetic revolves around nature and you get to see the beauty of Prince Edward Island, so cottagecore is more suitable.
I'm loving this series of watching movies based on your zodiac sign, and now your aesthetics! The outfit changes were a nice touch :) Even though my style is verryy basic, I'm a sucker for anything pastels, I just added The Umbrellas of Cherbourg to my watchlist!
Favourite Barbie.. definitely Princess and the Pauper ! Just because Erika had a brow hair like me and I loved prince Erik so much back then :'D amazing video, congrats on that milestone
At first I thought my aesthetic was dark macadamia, then I started thinking apple tart hoe, but then I decided on BBQ-core. I think I'm just hungry? Also, some of your favs made me think of the 2020 Emma, with Anya Taylor-Joy. It's a really beautiful and well-shot movie, at least aesthetic-wise. Have you seen it?
i remember reading matilda and the little princess as a child, i had no idea they were adapted to films! but then again, i'd much rather read a book than watch a movie.
i just knew you would start dark academia with dead poets society 🥺🥺 funny but embarrassing story: we watched it in my english class last year and i was ofc balling my eyes out in the front of my whole class and i was so embarrassed 🙃 prior to watching it i already told my teacher that it is one of my favourite movies of all time and after finishing it, he had the audicity to ask if i had anything to say ?! hahah i basically said that i wasn’t able to respond 🤨😭 bc i was literally crying like a baby ???
anyways, after this tragic moment in my high school career (lmao), i realised what a huge power a teacher like him had, because many of us remained silent after the movie and i think i wasn’t the only one who was touched by it (it was at least the 5th time of me watching it btw). so now i’m studying english language and literature so i might follow in his footsteps one day ☺️
I LOVED IT I JUST!!!!! kinda missed clueless, alice in wonderland, pride and prejudice, anne with an e and breakfast club or the perks of being a wallflower and more aesthetics like the “badie” or the witchy, the geek addicted to the universe (it can be astrology or science) omg i can’t stop thinking of new ideas now janskskskskw ps: cottagecore just remainds of the shire ☺️💐
For light academia, I recommend you the movie Picnic at Hanging Rock. The story takes place in a boarding school in Australia in 1900. It's directed by Peter Weir, the director of Dead Poets Society ! And for dark academia : the movie Maurice by James Ivory is really great ! (A Room With a View by the same director could also fit in the cottagecore category ♥ )
Some I can think of that wasn’t mentioned: Dark Academia- Maurice (1987) Sylvia (2003) Art Hoe - At Eternity’s Gate (2018) Grunge- Empire Records (1995)
The Secret Life of Arrietty is my favourite Ghibli movie ever, it's so calming and the character dynamics are really sweet! Though dark academia is my go-to aesthetic, i also really really like cottagecore and witchcore. My favourite barbie movie is The Diamond Castle. Liana and Alexa are OG cottagecore sapphics, and i will not be taking criticism.
Well it is quit late but.. Da Vinci code is a dark academia movie I think and my favorite barbie movie is barbie and the school for princesses.. I'd also like you to make a video with indie movies thank u so much you gave me a lot of ideas your videos are really helpful and so nice 🥺❤️
In terms of differences, Dark Academia is more gothic, dramatic, and somber while Light is more romantic and ostentatious. Pride and Prejudice 2005 is a great Light Academia bit. Nanny McPhee 2 for Cottagecore.
Cottagecore: - Babette's Feast - The Secret Garden Dark Academia: - The Browning Version (I saw the 1951 version but there was a remake in the 90s) Paste: - Liz and the Blue Bird
@KAMIYA HARRIS Babette's Feast is currently on HBO Max and the Criterion Channel. The Secret Garden is on HBO Max. The Browning Version (1951) is on the Criterion Channel and Kanopy. Liz and the Blue Bird is available on Blu-Ray from GKids.
TBH I was really happy when Clerks showed up on the list for Grunge because I really love that movie and I really like the vibes that the Grunge aesthetic has. My #1 favorite aesthetic is actually Weirdcore, but I guess that it is kind of a hard one to do this with.

my favorite barbie movies are (yep, i couldn't choose just one because they're all so good): -the nutcracker -a fashion fairytale -princess charm school -the three musketeers
