What's with the pissing contest you guys are putting on between Chris and Andrew? You guys are comparing a major excavating outfit to a one man property maintenance business. They are both extremely talented individuals, producing good content and i can watch them both all day.
Right why is everyone say who is better. I like what I do and and sure he enjoys what he does. We both like to share our adventure. No need for all the pissing matches and drama.
New Boyz two different men to listen areas both professional they both work very hard but they approach jobs definitely learned a lot from both of them and I enjoy bottom stop in and putting them against each other you’re wasting your time junk Mandel
Good video Chris and hello from the UK Mary Old England. Never doubt the old Hitachis and Volvos and yes even Komatsu Excavators , they can pull a house down or even as proved on this video lift anything heavy within reason. Very good , strong and reliable machines. I have seen here in the UK 20 plus year old Hitachi Excavators from the early 1980's still working hard and doing excellent. I have even seen a old Hitachi U19 excavator from 1983 still working here in the UK lifting stuff and digging , way older then the 2005 Hitachi Zaxis 200 you have Chris , that 2005 Hitachi excavator will work its ass off if needed lol Best thing I have seen is a very old 25 ton Ruston Bucyrus crawler crane from the late 70's very rusty still lifting scrap cars , it made me smile to see this old crane doing what it does best , working. Awesome video Chris and cannot wait to see the farm and the shop coming along and finished I think it will look amazing.
@@aboveallrealestate8509 If you follow Chris and read the comments, you'll occasionally see reference to Andrew Camerata's channel. If you dis Andrew here, then you'll proably get stopped on by Andrew's fanboys and girls. Chris, and Guins Excavating Service, has much nicer equipment than Andrew. Andrew has a bunch of excavators from a tiny sub-mini to a Hitachi that I used to think reasonably big till Chris bought his Hitachi, which dwarf's Andrew's biggest excavator. With a half dozen assorted excavators, a skid steer, dozer, and odds and ends like a boom lift (cherry picker) and mobile crane, I think the crane is the only one with a closed in cab. Other than the vibratory roller, all of Guin's equipment have cabs with a/c. Chris and the team do much more complex projects than Andrew, who describes his company as Property Maintenance.
@@SoloTwo42 Blimey mate. Do you know what a non sequitur is? I'll give a clue. It's when you make false assumptions and make a twat of yourself. I love both channels along with several others.
Looks like you need Andrew to come down to help you on moving sea cons then he can straighten that bucket shank out and weld on a hook to your bucket lol Not bad though
Those shipping containers are built tough and a bit of rough manhandling isn't gonna hurt them much. That's why some people like using them to build houses and sheds.
Fine job , I have moved about 30 of these to my place with a SRW F350 , a 36' gooseneck and a 455G loader by myself . Yes , the escape route ends up being the challenge quite a bit.
Having that one end lightly drag gave you a lot more control over your load- compare this with the large culvert from a previous video... And it's better to leave a little room between so the doors open all the way
I bought a 40 footer, they weigh 9,000 lbs. I scooted mine to where I needed with my awesome old tough Chevy Suburban 4x4 Z71 with 32 inch tires on it, it dented my burb a bit but no biggee!
Chris you mentioned the rigging having too much slack, but that was probably already tighter than work safe regs would suggest. It's about mechanical advantage. With a 90° angle between the chains the tension on each is the weight of the load divided by the number of strops/chains. With 120° between two chains, you effectively double the load weight tension. So with your rigging arrangement, the chain has about twice the weight of the container tensioning the chain. file:///I:/Downloads/WKS-1-building-and-construction-ACOP-load-lifting-rigging.pdf
Next time you move it drag roll it over 2-3 logs ..... a lot less weight to lift and easier to move around because with logs you can push roll as well. And run chains thru the top hole to the end and loop it. Works better.
Great vid and great job Chris!! In the 8-9+ years i have been watching...i dont think i have ever seen Chris sweat...till now... LOL..great vid!!! Best quote.."Not enough Chris!"
With Andrews channel, I fast rewind because I missed something. With Chris’s channel, I fast forward because the long in cab shot and normal time footage, makes me sleepy.
Ain't enough Chris to move umm !!! LMAO !!! See there ya got to sweatin' for nothing.... Hell , Ya got that pretty easy it looked like... Good one !!!! Have a Great Evening...
I saw a video of a guy moving one of those he poured some burnt oil in the back of a single axle dump truck. Took a back hole he put on blocks to get the height and loaded the container on the dump truck. Then moved the container while on the truck to the spot he was going to place it. Drove a 2x4 in the ground so the container would not go off the hill, he rased the bed a bit shoved it in drive popped a wheelie and the container slid off right in place as it hit the 2x4 and stopped. He jacked the container with farm all jacks so he could put it on concrete blocks.
Both of these guys do their own thing and I don't think they should be compaired against each other. I watch both and enjoy both channels. Watched both guys do what they needed to do to get a job done. That is the bottom line. Getting the job done........
I've moved a 40ft container with my S300 it wasn't sitting flat at all it was pretty much on 2 wheels when I picked it up to move to it's final position. But it worked
wish we would of gotten video of the containers I set at my buddies cabin for his shop. 2 18 foot containers loaded we had to drag 100 feet and set on railway ties with an old hitachi ex60. was all the ol girl had but we got it done
Hey Chris good job just an FYI when you’re handling railroad ties they’re covered with creosote it will burn you bad and leave a scar in your body..... Worked on the Rairoad for 32 years as a conductor if I had $1.00 For every ties I rolled over and everyone I threw out to be new tires put down and picked up I’ve been millionaire.... if you ever put them down make sure you put a lot of stone around him if you don’t the rot real quick on the ground The best way to handle them when you move them is a pair of ice tongs or if you can come across apparel railroad tie tongues like bicycle handlebars real handy for ties all kinds of things of ever come across a pair at a Auction if you can buy them JUNKMANDO aka x railroader
Well, Chris, you can now apply for membership in the International Longshoreman and Wharehouse Union (ILWU) as well as adding another trade to your resume'.
The hook won't fit through the hole but the chain will double chain work link by link through and hook the hook into your chain loop on the other side of your bucket hole and also conX hole buddy
I would too, if a bunch of mouth-breathing idiots fans of another youtuber came along and commented about how they thought their guy can do it better or that its a ripoff because he uses the same equipment. Tempted to go over there and ask this andrew guy how he feels about his fans representing his brand by being shitheads.
@@Mephiston firstly cool your shit down, its calm, no one is saying whose better just comparing the similarities between the content of this video and many of Andrew Camarata, personally if I offended anyone I apologise
“Just not enough Chris to get those heavy ass railroad ties under their”. ???? What? I could do that with my pinkie finger!! Hahaha. Why work hard when you can work smart! That way your back won’t be a mess like mine!! I needed to be more patient and do it like yourself! Keep on working “SMRT” like you do and be safe, Eh! Thanks again Chris (aka letsdig18) !!!
Hey Chris not to upset you but call Andrew Camarata from NY State he's very experienced with shipping containers He has a shipping containers castle... he knows how to moved them!!!
I was wondering how Betsy was doing, I have been watching all the old link belt videos today. And NOW I know Why you sold the second one... good move..!!! 😎👍✅
I am sure you won’t see my response to the two you made of preparing it and after painting It, but That was some good work on a piece of heavy equipment, I have only done it on old MGs And Triumphs... At Carolina Stone In Morrisville (on hwy 54) we would sand n paint a Crane, boom truck Os Something during the winter months.
@@sinister184 Andrew is probably the busiest, hardest working guy on youtube, and he is completely on his own. He also owns all of his equipment and his shop. Andrew could put this container in place with a shovel and a moped if he had to. He'll make it happen with what he's got, that's the appeal..
@@letsdig18 I don't know why you need to constantly talk shit about him. You both have great content, I've been subscribed to you for over 10 years now and since you got your better internet connection I look forward to your uploads every day. The constant digs at him aren't exactly a good look, but whatever floats your boat. Not everyone gets lucky enough to land a job with their uncle.
I pulled one of these off a deck over with a 40hp skid steer with a 1500 pound bucket capacity... lol I should have recorded it.... I kept thinking I was gonna get a sudden weight transfer and get thrown out the front door lol....
I seen a pile of logs behind the other shed. They my have been good rollers. So to set the end on. And then roll it into position. Then replace them with the ties. You would have been thrown off a pyramid construction site.
I hate when someone tries to tell me how they would have done but I am going to tell you that I would put it on a log center way so it would spin around the drag or push a little easier. I am sorry for tell how to do it
@Len Kutchma he got it done that"s the main thing. He does a good job no matter what and he"s a xmart young man and he"s from N,C, so he"s got a lot going for him, LOL!
It would have had a few holes in it if he did and the other containers nocked into the ditch. That mans a oneman wrecking crew. Entertaining though on what he will screw up next.
