I remember when you dug the ditches to 'drain the swamp'. Whew, that was a lot of water and a lot of trees. Now look at the beautiful pasture/field that's the result. I hoped you'd show the pond build here. This is going to be a fun one, for us. Thanks for bringing us back and sharing with us, Chris.
Yeah I remember that project - it was literally a swamp when you started clearing and draining the area. Gonna be great to see the follow up videos. 👍👍👍
Think this is the first project you've done that I struggled to see what you were trying to do. Watching the 350 with its new rake bucket, thinking why not bush hog it and then dig a ditch....It was only towards the end that I really started to see the ditch and what you were doing.
Watching you clear and drain this area was the first video of yours that I found. I went back plenty after that and now watch them as they come out. Great stuff.
Reliable Donnie always taking care of business properly. Gosh that ground is hard fully evident of little to no rain for quite some time. The grass on that field looks very yellow - poor soil maybe. Another great project to watch and enjoy and yes that pond is beautiful.
Wow, that`s some hard soil, 6-7 inch trees just snapping at the base, that 350 is a beast, what a machine you have there, that monster claw on the 350, when you pull it back it looks like it`s gonna smash through the cab.
Totally remember this swamp job everywhere you went you where in deep water the work you done then shows just what some drainage work can do but you still have a big job hear but as normal you'll make it another great looking job, thank's for another great video Chris.
Chris does sort of cataloged his videos by using some keywords in his video titles. For example one of his recent project he calls "Abandoned Farm". So searching youtube for "letsdig18 abandoned farm" should get almost all his videos on that project. However, that doesn't really tells you that he had also previously worked on that same farm for a "6+3 acre job" doing 6 acre clearing and 3 acre pond. Hence I had built a "letsdig18 checkvist catalog/list" of all his videos since 2020 or so ... ;-)
This project has been great stuff. I'm looking forward to the next project. I just love the way you transform the places and the Bealy ocean is a great example ❤
Wow, I remember this project, it was nasty for sure, amazing how nice it turned out, now you get to add the pond, and suspect we get to see the 350 in action on this pond build. Looking forward to seeing this project develop. Thanks for the video, enjoyed watching.
Maybe a new haul truck?? I hate spending Chris’ money, but with the 25 ton truck, there’s a lot of down time for the 350. Two 25 tons? Easier to transport, or maybe a 30 ton truck like they have with the family business that John runs. It’s my prediction he would get one before the year end! 😊
I can remember the video when you first arrived at this property and thinking "what a swampy mess" and that it would never be usable, but like always you've done a great job and it is completely unrecognisable. Well done.
Come on Chris, the 350 can do it!!!! You own it, you just need to turn the hydraulic pumps full up and crank the dials all the way up to 10. Nimble, that 350 will show you nimble!!!😮😂
I remember that video the first time here... I thought you might scare up a gator or 5... it was a swamp.. you had to just dig ditches to drain it before doing anything else.. what a difference..
I watched the project you just left from the start and that pond did indeed turn out great. No reason why this one won't turn out as good. I also remember the start of this project.
Great to be back on the swap drain project Chris. The 350 is a beast as everybody is saying. But I got a mention that 350 has got a squeak and a half. I don’t know if you hear it in the cab but we all can sure hear it sitting in our rocking chairs watching you. Check out the seat mount brackets, and see if you can find a loose bolt or something anyway enjoy your videos keep them coming.
I remember this job. This is around the time I discovered your channel. Curious as to what you are going to do with the spoil from the pond. Maybe just lose it across the remaining land?
Was good to see the end result of this water draining job and clearing came out real nice Will be a nice spot for a Dam for sure good to see the property owner got and took your advice on how to drain and maintain a road access so he has less of a problem with the draining of and such Like the way you think through a job the start but you can also change around to suit the ground and trees Cheers looking forward to seeing rest of this one for sure You never run out of jobs as you can go from one to another whether depending Cheers
Love the new "Thumb" just as an observation ! NOT a criticism ! the part of the thumb nearest the cab has "three tine's , yet placed "centred ! none on the edge . The other Volvo set up (thumb) appears equidistant to each other, tine's well placed for tree work, love to get some feedback cheers...
idea for a bucket upgrade... have a 1/2 " piece of plate welded between the center 2 teeth that has a bluntly sharpened "V" point to create a log chopping web ???
.......at 1:21 Chris: " You remember..., "All of this was trees".., "every bit of it.... Me: Yeah I sure do., We sang out "TIMBER! a lot on this job... I also got a bad rash and pine tar all over my keyboard and mouse...
Hi Chris, not sure if you finished the horse corral. Last that I saw you were still bull dosing the ground to grade. You brought your smooth roller. To compact the final grade. Not sure if I missed the video. Thanks again for your projects, and videos, Joe Capo.
When you wondered what 220 would think of that tree I was thinking, " Boy that cab sure doesn't jump when digging tree like his smaller piece of equipment did. Alot less jarring and easier on your body day after day.
Yeah, I remember that one from a few years back , it was a wet mess !! Man, those old piles of trees that have been sitting there for so long , will burn up right now, I'm tellin' ya !! lololol... Freaking ground is hard as all hell !! That last little stump didn't want to move at all with the 220 !! lolol.. Have to get the Big Boy back on it !! lolol... Great as Always Chris !! Have a Great Evening, And, On to the Next !! I think they are saying you guys are going to be getting a lot of rain for the next couple weeks, was watching one of the Weather guys here on YT earlier, and that was what he was saying...?? who knows the way the weather acts anymore !! Have a Good one Man...
