First and foremost, a huge congratulations to you, Dom and your little boy. It really bothers me that you worked so hard to leave your cottage spotless for the new owners and had to move into a dirty house. It looks as if they put in ZERO effort to clean anything. I must admit the previous video reminded me why I really hate moving but this one got me itching to move. The excitement of exploring a new house and neighbourhood and getting the things that you didn't have in your previous house like more storage

Having moved several times I’ve always left a spotless house and the new one usually needing a deep clean …! A cooker in one house we just had to bin as impossible to clean. Living room carpet filled three hoover bags of dog hair !!! Ugh! Some people live like animals. But .. we’ve always had great satisfaction from transforming these spaces, looking forward to what your hard work will achieve.
Gosh I was shocked at how dirty the house was, I know all about it, you leave your place spotless just to move into a filthy house but true to you, you sorted and cleaned the place in no time without making too much of a fuss. Such a lovey house! I am from Sweden and I am so surprised to see that the house wasn’t cleaned by the previous owners. Here it is mandatory to thoroughly clean the house you are leaving before handing over the keys. Often you hire a cleaning company to do the “moving clean” as it is so much to cover and you’ll have to pay a penalty if you haven’t cleaned properly. I am looking forward to follow your journey in your new house!
You look sooo happy! I'm sure Dom is also happy and looking forward to having his own rec space upstairs again. Loved the vlog and look forward to seeing how your new house develops. It looks lovely - I get that you need the space as wee ones do grow as do the clothes, toys , books etc. your cottage was incredibly charming and your garden in there was amazing and beautiful. However it will be so nice to see how your new garden is populated with trees, shrubs and flowers. I remember when we last moved house when our children were younger - we had boxes still unopened 6 months later !

Oh my goodness, we have moved into some dirty houses as well...like you, I have always thoroughly cleaned every nook and cranny as I've packed a house up but some people have zero manners or care for others. Hope you’ll be very happy there ❤️ we moved into our long term family home several years ago & when we arrived they’d covered a bust pipe by wrapping it with tape and there was water all over the floor 🙈 and nothing had been cleaned. Then we came to decorate we found they’d done multiple bodged diy jobs. Whereas we had spent ages cleaning the house we left and even repainted a couple of walls! We’re UK based too x

This was exactly my experience. Left my old house spotless. Didn’t get the same courtesy from our new house. The house looks beautiful though. I’m sure your family will be very happy there. Highly recommend non invasive bamboo for your privacy. Super cheap and grows really fast but it’s also easy to trim with a cheap hedge cutter or even scissors.

How wonderful! There’s nothing quite like the excitement and potential of moving into a new home. We moved nearly 5 years ago from a quirky settlers cabin to a 1980’s bungalow and I had the same feelings! Practical sometimes just has to win 😉. So glad you’re sharing it all.

As much of a let down as it is that the house was left in such a condition after all the work you'd put into your old cottage to leave it nice, I'm betting it felt good each time you were able to put your belongings into a freshly cleaned cupboard.
