Wow, this video is 3 years old, and this is one of the most cleanest mounting options for moving heads. -Mine should be here in a few days, and I will be doing something similar to this setup! Thanks Fam!
Hey bro...really appreciate you sharing your knowledge and experience. ..especially the Distro video. Can you send me the link for these moving heads? Looking to elevate my mobile rig...but want to buy in at a lower rate -thanks
The moving heads are from China. I just spoke with the Ebay seller that I got them from because I get so many emails about them and they are all out of stock until the end of the month. They also sell the 60w moving heads. I'll send you a link to your inbox.
The stands are speaker stands I got from Siesmic Audio dot com. For info on the stands look at my speaker stand video and for info on the moving heads look at my videos that have "moving head" in the title.
I know this is an old video but they have totem stands now so you can use your speaker stands for speakers and the totems for moving heads. I just got a set of Rockville totems 8ft and love them! Check em out if you haven’t already. Looks clean bro!
Damn man. Good idea. Just got a couple of Chauvet 255 IRC spots and was brainstorming ideas on what to do with them. This is the answer. Thanks for posting.
That's an awesome idea man I'm gonna have to do that. thinking about sitting something left and right side of my drummer on stage and it's certainly a lot cheaper in buying 6' sections of truss
You did an awesome job Busta setup looks nice and clean and i think im falling in love with those lights best of luck this 2013!! BustaB moving on up!!!!
Thanks for the video and they look great. I'm going to make a set of these for my flurry mini moving washes and my mini moving heads. I'll post a video once I'm done with them and give you a shout out!
i have a similar set up, but i use monitor stands for the base part and replaced the triangle base with regular speaker stands. I use rubber bungee straps to secure the fixtures tho. Easier to carry around if you have limited space and cheaper than a totem truss. i like the scrim king cover idea tho. Good stuff!
You have been much help for me but I need some more info. What type of material did you use for the scrim covers and did you use a sewing machine to sew the covers together. Oh yeah did you use a template for the covers? Sorry for so many questions but I have to get this right. Thanks Again
For the covers I got a basic set of "Skrim" type covers from Ebay. Just do a Ebay search for speaker stand cover and you will see a few other brands that are lower in price then Skrim King. Gator cases makes a set and a few other brands that are lower in price. I paid around $90 for a set of 2 covers.
I got the mounts from Siesmic Audio website. Just do a Google search for Siesmic Audio and you will see the site. On the site just click on speaker stands and mounts and you will see it's a basic speaker stand mount.
The fans are normal fan noise but once you are on a event you don't hear them. Even with the music very low the fans are not noticeable. In this video I was less then a few feet away. Just like your amps that have cooling fans...not that noticeable.
