When I stay in a cottage I always clean it thoroughly; hoovering dusting etc I always strip the beds too just to save the owners/ cleaners time. I think it’s the least one can do after a lovely stay. I hope to stay at Strawtop very soon xxxxx
a bit extreme as part of what you pay is for cleaning service, definitely one should leave a Airbnb or hotel room reasonably tidy and clean but no need for what you seem to do.

My hubby often dusts and vacuums the cottages we’ve stayed in while we are there and before we leave - we never even leave a dirty mug etc 🤣🤣🤣 and we strip beds too.
I’m crying inside for those poor knives and how they were treated 😢 I’d never imagine leaving a lovely place in that state, where the owners go to such lengths to make it homey and beautiful.

I would listen to Charlie's passionate about cooking podcasts. I make scrambled eggs by cracking them into a frying pan and only moving the whites around when they start to go opaque. When the whites are scrambled I pierce the yolks last. And you get a lovely eggy marbled scrambled eggs! Yum! 😋🥚🐣 x

I love the new area rug at Straw Top Cottage. It’s so colorful and brightens up the room. I think it actually makes the room appear larger. You and Charlie have excellent taste and both your homes benefit from it! Someday I hope to visit the Cotswolds and stay in your adorable cottage.

Euphorbia usually seeds itself and you see lots of new shoots coming up. What are you going to have in your flower picking garden? Delphiniums and foxgloves and hollyhocks are delightful along with cornflowers and daisies. I expect a wedding theme this year and the excitement of that.

Oh, no, Josie and Charlie! I don’t think the portraits of your fur babies belong in a storage shed! Please take them back, have them framed and hung in either of your homes. They don’t have to be in a prominent place, but please find a cute place for them. Maybe they could go in Charlie’s closet/dressing room or in the area off the kitchen where they get bathed or in one of the upstairs hallways. They are too cute to be stuffed away! Had to skip the Strawtop cottage section of the vlog because it makes me sad I will never get to stay there due to it being£500 a night! So for the minimum 3 night stay is my monthly wage 😢
Sorry but that's a ridiculous price. Think of the holidays you could take abroad for 2 weeks for less than that. For a lot of people that would cover 2-3 months of rent or mortgage. 😳 For the vast majority of people that is completely unaffordable and sounds like a rip off. Doubt they are getting many bookings at those rates.

Do you and Charlie sit back sometimes and think wow?! You should both be so proud of everything you are achieving, and you know, I was upset too when you mentioned that you had guests at the cottage who had not cleaned up after themselves and left knives soaking and ruined them. So disrespectful !! We were raised to tidy up after oursleves and if you have used something put it back how you found it. I feel for you regarding plp leaving Strawtop in an awful state.We hv 2 flats that we rent out,and the last tenants in one of our flats,cost us over 7,000 worth of damage😩Thy broke doors of hinges,ruined all carpets, broke all light fittings,left rubbish in every room.If you can name something awful,then thy did it.Just heartbreaking.These flats are our retirement plan,and they’ve now cost us money we can’t afford. Another fab vlog,and Strawtop Cottage is beautiful xxx
I have another scrambled egg technique for Charlie! you basically sit a metal bowl over a pot of simmering water to create a double boiler. Drop a couple of eggs in and add a pinch of salt. Whisk!!! Don't stop whisking until you are left with a beautiful silken "curd." I even have a special whisk for the job - the brand of whisks is Best, and its their Standard French Whip. these eggs are honestly so creamy and silky xx
